NDO - On the morning of January 25, on the occasion of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, President Vo Van Thuong and the Central Working Delegation visited and offered incense at the relic site of Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac; visited and wished a happy New Year to families of policy beneficiaries, poor households, mobile police forces and Customs in Dong Thap province.

Accompanying the President were comrades Le Khanh Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Office of the President; Le Quoc Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, and representatives of leaders of agencies, ministries, and branches in the Central and Dong Thap provinces. In Cao Lanh city, President Vo Van Thuong and the Central Working Delegation offered incense at the relic site of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac. Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac was a patriotic Confucian scholar, the father of President Ho Chi Minh. Nguyen Sinh Sac was born in 1862, in Sen village, now Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. In 1901, he passed the Vice-Chancellor exam. After leaving the officialdom, he went to the South to work and contacted patriotic monks and Confucian scholars. In the last years of his life, he stopped at Hoa An village, Cao Lanh. On October 27, 1929 (lunar calendar), he fell seriously ill and passed away. He was buried by the people of Hoa An village next to Hoa Long pagoda. The relic site was built in 1975 and inaugurated in 1977, including the tomb of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, Uncle Ho's stilt house and Lotus Pond. Every year, the local government and people organize many activities to offer incense and flowers to commemorate Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, educate the tradition of patriotism as well as show the people's deep respect and gratitude for the merits, morality and personality of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac. President Vo Van Thuong wrote in the guestbook and planted a commemorative tree at the relic site of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac. At the headquarters of the People's Committee of Thuong Thoi Hau A commune, Hong Ngu district, Dong Thap province, the President and his comrades extended New Year greetings and presented New Year gifts to poor households, policy families, farmers, workers, and poor children in difficult circumstances in the border district of Hong Ngu, Tan Hong district and Hong Ngu city. Speaking to the people, the President expressed his joy and deep impression with the achievements in economic and social development of the districts and cities, with many important criteria on building new rural areas, reducing the poverty rate, improving people's lives, creating a joyful and warm community atmosphere... Stating that the people of Hong Ngu in particular and Dong Thap in general have a tradition of being very resilient and indomitable in the wars to protect the Fatherland, President Vo Van Thuong suggested that the leaders of Dong Thap province, districts and cities need to pay attention to making people's lives better and better, reducing the number of poor households to the maximum, striving to have no poor households in the near future; improving cultural and spiritual life, ensuring people's security and safety. This is an important goal that Party committees and authorities at all levels need to focus on and strive to achieve. Border districts need to join hands to build a peaceful , cooperative and developing border with Cambodia. Therefore, the border guards and police need to closely coordinate with other forces to grasp the local situation, thereby advising the authorities and superiors on solutions, avoiding being passive and surprised. President Vo Van Thuong requested central agencies and provincial leaders to pay more attention to the construction of roads and infrastructure so that people and students can feel secure in developing labor, production, business and study. The President hopes that people in border areas will continue to spread the spirit of solidarity, love, sharing, helping each other, promoting the precious traditions of the Vietnamese people. Economic development, deep and sincere neighborly love will help people's lives be joyful and happy. Summarizing the situation in the world and in the country in the past and in the coming time, the President stated that the tasks of the mobile police force and the public security force are increasingly difficult, requiring a higher spirit of readiness and determination. The President stated that the provincial police force and mobile police need to thoroughly grasp Resolution No. 12 of the Politburo on promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern People's Public Security force to meet the tasks in the new situation; Fully grasp the Resolutions of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the programs and plans of the Ministry of Public Security, and Dong Thap province to perform their tasks well. The provincial police need to coordinate closely with other forces and functional agencies to forecast and grasp the situation, thereby having timely and effective handling plans. President Vo Van Thuong presents Tet gifts to the Mobile Police Battalion, Dong Thap Provincial Police.
Sharing with the police officers and soldiers, mobile police with the task of being on duty regularly, especially when Tet comes, the President asked the leaders of Dong Thap Police and related agencies in the province to pay attention to the spiritual and material life of the mobile police officers and soldiers. This is an important task that needs to be done well to motivate and encourage the spirit of the officers and soldiers. Reporting to the President, the leader of Dong Thap Provincial Mobile Police said that in the past time, the force has proactively and promptly handled many incidents arising in the protection of security and order in the province, avoiding being passive and surprised; participating in the investigation of many important cases, contributing to ensuring good security and order in the area.... President Vo Van Thuong and the Central Working Delegation visited and wished the New Year to the officers and customs staff of Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate (Thuong Phuoc Commune, Hong Ngu District). President Vo Van Thuong stated that Thuong Phuoc Border Gate plays an important role in the economic and social development of Dong Thap province and the Mekong Delta region; the results achieved in the work of the Border Gate in 2023 reflect the efforts and endeavors of the officers and employees. Notably, all targets and tasks have successfully completed the set goals. He stated that in 2024, the whole country will face difficulties and challenges but also many opportunities, including increasing two-way trade between Vietnam and Cambodia. This reality sets higher tasks and requirements, requiring more efforts and attempts in performing the tasks of each officer and employee of the border gate. The President suggested that Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate in particular and Dong Thap Customs in general should continue to perform well the assigned functions and tasks, ensuring that goods are cleared smoothly, quickly and in accordance with regulations, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of life, production and business of the people of Vietnam and Cambodia. Continue to build a clean and strong Party organization, a team of cadres and civil servants, to meet the assigned tasks, while overcoming challenges and temptations in life and work, thereby affirming the qualities of customs officers. The President noted: Customs officers and employees need to coordinate well with functional forces to grasp the local situation, handle situations well and effectively.
