President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and his wife, along with the high-ranking Mongolian delegation, laid wreaths at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs and visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

Vietnam and Mongolia have a traditional friendship, often helping and supporting each other. Since 1992, despite the transition to a multi-party pluralism regime, Mongolia still considers Vietnam an important partner in the Southeast Asian region.

In recent contacts, Mongolia repeatedly emphasized the importance of its relationship with Vietnam, considering Vietnam an important partner in the Asia-Pacific region and emphasizing that Vietnam is the most important partner in the Southeast Asian region....

The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Economic and Trade Cooperation in 2021; a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation in May 2022; a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Immigration Management; and a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture in 2022. The two sides are exchanging drafts of the Agreements expected to be signed such as: Agreement on Citizens' Travel Conditions (replacing the 2000 Agreement in the direction of visa exemption for ordinary passport holders staying for less than 30 days); draft Agreement on Investment Promotion and Protection (re-signed)...

The two sides installed a statue of President Ho Chi Minh and opened a gallery about President Ho Chi Minh at Ho Chi Minh High School No. 14, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in 2009. In 2013, Vietnam and Mongolia jointly produced the Mongolian film “Life is like a movie” with scenes shot in Vietnam and widely shown in Mongolia and Vietnam.

Since 2014, Mongolia has regularly sent art troupes to participate in the Hue Festival. In 2019, Mongolian National Radio and Television (MNB) cooperated with Voice of Vietnam (VOV) to produce a documentary about the traditional friendship between the two countries on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations. National Television (MNB) premiered a documentary about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and the 74th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day...

Bilateral trade in 1994-1995 reached 5-6 million USD; recently it has grown rapidly, reaching about 50 million USD in 2020, about 80 million USD in 2021, 85 million USD in 2022, and expected to reach 75 million USD in the first 8 months of 2023.

The two sides maintain close coordination in international activities. Mongolia supports Vietnam's accession to the WTO, supports Vietnam's candidacy for the non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council for the 2008-2009 and 2020-2021 terms, supports Vietnam's membership in the UNESCO Executive Council for the 2010-2013 term and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) for the 2019-2025 term, and supports Vietnam's candidacy for the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS) for the 2023-2028 term.

Vietnam supports Mongolia's participation in the ECOSOC Executive Committee for the 2010-2013 term, and is ready to assist and help Mongolia expand relations with ASEAN countries and join APEC when the organization admits new members.

Immediately after the official welcoming ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong held talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh; witnessed the signing of cooperation documents and met with press agencies....
