
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and members of the delegation respectfully offered incense, remembering the great contributions of President Ton Duc Thang - an exemplary leader, a staunch communist, a shining example of revolutionary morality, and an outstanding son of An Giang .

Here, comrade Tran Thanh Man and the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense in memory of President Ton Duc Thang, one of the first soldiers of the workers' movement and the Vietnamese proletarian revolutionary movement, who devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the nation.

In memory of President Ton Duc Thang, comrade Tran Thanh Man wrote in the guest book: "Generations of National Assembly deputies vow to continue and promote the achievements of previous generations, firmly believe in the Party, unite, innovate, and strive to build a developed Vietnamese National Assembly, worthy of the trust and expectations of voters and people nationwide, contributing to bringing the country firmly into a new era of wealth, prosperity, and happiness for the people."
On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man wished An Giang province to develop quickly and firmly, along with the country's development, worthy of being the hometown of President Ton Duc Thang.

He suggested that An Giang province regularly pay attention to the special national relic site of President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site, "so that this place continues to be a red address for educating patriotism and revolutionary traditions, especially for the young generation."
On the occasion of visiting the locality, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, members of the delegation including members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairmen of several National Assembly Committees, the National Assembly Office, leaders of An Giang province and Can Tho city presented 100 gifts to policy families, meritorious people, and children from families in difficult circumstances.

According to local historical documents: At 92 years old, nearly 70 years of continuous revolutionary activities, 27 years of continuous service as Chairman of the Lien Viet Front and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, more than 10 years as President, President Ton Duc Thang devoted his entire life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the people and international friends.
On August 19, 1958, on the occasion of Uncle Ton Duc Thang's 70th birthday, the National Assembly Standing Committee and the President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam decided to award the Gold Star Order. During the ceremony, President Ho Chi Minh congratulated comrade Ton Duc Thang.
The life of President Ton Duc Thang is the life of a true communist who pursued his ideals and went all the way on his ideal journey for the country's independence and the people's happiness. Uncle Ton's life is the embodiment of revolutionary ethics: "Diligence, thrift, integrity, uprightness, impartiality, and selflessness".

Uncle Ton's name and career will forever remain with the country, live forever in the hearts of the people and his hometown An Giang, leaving for future generations an extremely valuable legacy of ideology and morality.
That is the generous nature of the people of the Southern region, the indomitable will, loyalty and the passionate patriotism and love for the people of the communist soldier, the beloved leader of the nation. Even in his position as President, Uncle Ton always lived simply, sincerely, and mingled with the masses.
The memorial area of President Ton Duc Thang is about 3,102 square meters wide, including the Exhibition House of President Ton Duc Thang's life and career with more than 100 valuable documentary images and artifacts about the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang.
In 1984, the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) recognized the Memorial Site as a Historical Relic and in 2012, the Prime Minister recognized it as a Special National Relic.
The memorial area also preserves artifacts associated with Uncle Ton's life and revolutionary career, such as: YAK-40 aircraft No. 452 (given by the Soviet Union), which took President Ton Duc Thang from Hanoi to Saigon to attend the rally commemorating the April 30, 1975 victory, held on May 15, 1975; the canoe named Liberation, which Uncle Ton repaired and piloted, took the revolutionary leaders from Con Dao back to the mainland in 1945...
Currently, Uncle Ton Memorial Site is a place to organize revolutionary tradition education activities, return to the source, a cultural and artistic activity venue on major holidays, and an attractive tourist destination for domestic and foreign visitors.
