National Assembly Chairman opens the exhibition "Vietnam's Aspiration"

Continuing the activities of the first day within the framework of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, on the afternoon of September 14, at the National Convention Center, the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union opened the Exhibition with the theme "Vietnam's Aspiration".

Attending the opening ceremony of the Exhibition were Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians; Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Tran Quang Phuong and representatives of the leaders of the Committees and the Office of the National Assembly.

On the side of the Ministry, there were Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Bui Quang Huy; Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Group of Young Delegates of the Vietnam National Assembly Nguyen Anh Tuan.

On the international side, there were President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Duarta Pacheco; President of the Global Forum of Young Parliamentarians Dan Carden; and Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Youth Jayathma Wickramanayake. In addition, the Exhibition was attended by distinguished guests and especially more than 300 delegates and young parliamentarians from all over the world.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, speaking at the Exhibition, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha welcomed the leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, leaders of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), distinguished guests and especially more than 300 delegates and young parliamentarians from all over the world who attended the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition.

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha emphasized: The exhibition with the theme "Vietnam's Aspiration" is an important event in promoting innovative and creative products with strong Vietnamese cultural identity and traditions, along with scientific and technological achievements in Vietnam's digital transformation.

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha spoke at the Exhibition.

From a backward agricultural country, suffering heavy consequences of war, Vietnam has made strong development steps since implementing the renovation policy. Vietnam has completed the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) ahead of schedule and is currently actively implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Sustainable Development Goals have been included and specified in Vietnam's socio-economic development programs and strategies.

In the complex context of the world situation and the risk of not achieving the Sustainable Development Goals on time and on schedule, digital transformation and innovation is an opportunity for all of us, especially countries with lower levels of development.

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha affirmed: The Party and State of Vietnam have issued many policies to promote innovation and digital transformation, and through the Exhibition, Vietnam wants to introduce to international friends the achievements in this field. Thereby, creating a spread, inspiring international delegates, young parliamentarians around the world to discuss together in the upcoming discussion sessions on measures, policies, especially the role of parliamentarians in perfecting the legal framework for promoting the implementation of the SDGs, through digital transformation, innovation and promoting respect for cultural diversity of each nation in the development process.

At the Exhibition, with the close coordination of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as well as the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Organizing Committee selected typical products. Many of them are products with the "Make in Vietnam" brand that have reached the world, including Artificial Intelligence technology applied to drones from CT Group or 5G network equipment provided by Viettel Group.

Leaders of the Vietnamese National Assembly and international delegates attended the Exhibition.

Vietnam hopes that the Exhibition will be a useful bridge for young parliamentarians to exchange experiences on digital transformation, flexible adaptation solutions after the pandemic and market fluctuations. From there, strategies will be proposed to create an environment to mobilize resources for development investment, production and business, create favorable conditions in terms of institutions, environment and infrastructure for people and businesses to invest and develop; continue to restructure the economy to improve the quality and competitiveness of the economy.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Vu Hai Ha expressed his sincere thanks to the Party and State leaders, representatives of central and local ministries, departments and branches, young National Assembly delegates, and Youth Union and Association officials who enthusiastically and responsibly contributed valuable opinions during the organization and attendance of the Exhibition.

The exhibition with the theme "Vietnam's Aspiration" is one of the activities within the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference hosted by the Vietnamese National Assembly, a very important multilateral foreign affairs event and a highlight of 2023.

The conference is scheduled to take place from September 14-17, 2023 in Hanoi with the theme: "The role of Youth in promoting the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals through Digital Transformation and Innovation" including 3 topics: Digital Transformation; Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Cultural and Human Values in Sustainable Development.
