Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung visited the economic model and inspected projects in Thai Hoa town.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and leaders of several departments and branches visited the high-tech agricultural production model of Hung Cuong Company Limited (in Nghia Thuan Commune). Currently, the company is providing jobs for 200 workers, including 10 citizens with university and post-graduate degrees.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the company's leaders said that the company's total farm area is 30 hectares, of which the livestock farm area is 3 hectares with a scale of 300 sows, 2,000 pigs for meat and 1,000 black piglets raised semi-industrial, 3,000 ducks, and 3,000 black chickens. Each year, the company's income from livestock farming brings in 23.3 billion VND.

The company also has 27 hectares of fruit trees, including 3 hectares of guava grown according to organic standards, 1 hectare of apples, 1 hectare of papaya, 10 hectares of Phuc Trach grapefruit, 3 hectares of custard apples, and 1 hectare of green-skin grapefruit. On this area, the company earns an annual income of 3,448 billion VND.

In addition, the company is applying high-tech agricultural production in greenhouses with 8 hectares, including 7 hectares of grapes, yielding 10 tons/ha/year, output reaching 70 tons/year; 1 hectare of melons, tomatoes, cucumbers, yielding 60 tons/year; winter tomatoes, cucumbers yielding 60 tons; each year bringing in nearly 16 billion VND in revenue.

After listening to the report and visiting the site, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung highly appreciated the efforts, daring, and innovation of the enterprise with a methodical, closed, and circular production process.

Based on the company's proposals, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested provincial departments, branches, and Thai Hoa town to support the company in piloting the combination of other activities such as experiential tourism so that the company can promote the effectiveness of agricultural production.

In addition, the sectors and Thai Hoa town also need to pay attention to supporting the company in legal matters, especially land certificates and procedures so that businesses can expand their production scale.

Next, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung inspected the Nghia My Industrial Cluster project (in Nghia My commune).

The industrial park was established in 2007, and in 2017 was expanded to 70 hectares, with Thai Hoa Town People's Committee as the infrastructure investor.

To date, this industrial cluster has attracted 17 investment projects, with an occupancy rate of 97.5% and a total registered investment of more than VND 3,106 billion. In the first 7 months of 2023 alone, the town has attracted investment in 5 projects with a total investment of VND 2,241 billion.

Of the 17 projects, 8 have been put into production and business, 1 project is under construction, 3 projects are undergoing site clearance compensation, 1 project is preparing construction planning documents and 3 projects have submitted proposal documents to the Provincial Public Administration Service Center.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung and leaders of departments and branches inspected the main road project of the town, from Hieu 2 Bridge to N8 Road (Tay Hieu Commune).

The project is over 608m long with the scale of a level II traffic project, with a total investment of over 61,456 billion VND from loans from the Asian Development Bank and counterpart funds, excluding site clearance costs.

The project has signed a construction contract on December 14, 2021, but has not yet started site clearance. The estimated cost of site clearance is about 110 billion VND, including 48 affected households.

The recommendations and proposals of Thai Hoa town will be discussed by leaders of departments and branches, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded at the working session with leaders of Thai Hoa town this afternoon (October 19).
