Continuing to provide information related to the incident in which some students of Binh Minh Secondary School showed signs of suspected poisoning after drinking bottled water received from strangers near the school gate, on the afternoon of October 1, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the Department had received a report from the Thanh Oai District Department of Education and Training.
Specifically, according to the Board of Directors of Binh Minh Secondary School, at around 1:45 p.m. on September 30, the school discovered that some students were given free bottled water products outside the school gate.
At around 2:30 p.m., the school discovered the first case of abdominal pain and took the student to the medical station.
At around 5:30 p.m. the same day, the school recorded that 235 students had drunk the above water, 30 students had symptoms of headache, stomachache, nausea, dizziness, of which 9 students were examined at Thanh Oai General Hospital, 21 students were monitored at school.
The origin and supplier of the water bottles used by students are currently unknown.
Immediately after the incident, the leaders of Thanh Oai District People's Committee, together with related units such as the health department, health center, police,education and training department, etc., conducted inspections, verifications, took samples for testing, and visited and encouraged the students. Currently, the health of the students has stabilized.
The Thanh Oai District Department of Education and Training also immediately warned schools in the area about ensuring food safety and hygiene, advising students to absolutely not accept food or drinks from strangers.
