The leaders of Cam Khe commune promptly visited and encouraged children with particularly difficult circumstances.
Currently, the commune has 12,224 children, including 9 orphans (having lost both parents), 100 children with severe and extremely severe disabilities, 290 children from poor households, and 228 children from near-poor households. These are the groups that need regular attention and support to have the opportunity to study, develop, and integrate into the community. In response to these practical needs, the local Party committee and government have focused on directing relevant departments and organizations to strengthen coordination and mobilize social resources to care for children, especially vulnerable children and children with particularly difficult circumstances.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - Deputy Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of the commune, said: "Today's children are the resource for the future of the locality, so along with paying attention to supporting essential conditions for children in difficult circumstances, the locality also pays special attention to building a safe and healthy living and learning environment for them to develop comprehensively in terms of physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects."
One of the highlights in the commune's childcare efforts recently has been the effective implementation of sponsorship models for disadvantaged children. The Women's Union currently sponsors seven orphaned children in the area, providing financial support, school supplies, and emotional encouragement to help them stabilize their lives and focus on their studies. The commune police are also caring for and sponsoring one child with special circumstances; they also coordinate with other organizations to visit and support the family, creating conditions for the children to develop in a safe and healthy environment.
In addition, activities to care for children during holidays and festivals were organized in a practical and meaningful way. During the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2025, the People's Committee of the commune, in coordination with organizations, associations, and residential areas, presented 113 gifts to disadvantaged children, children with disabilities, and poor students who overcame difficulties, totaling 22.6 million VND from social contributions. Residential areas also presented 954 gifts to children with high academic achievements, totaling 95.5 million VND. During the Lunar New Year in 2026, many agencies and units continued to support the locality in caring for children. The Provincial Children's Protection Fund presented 70 gifts to disabled and orphaned children in difficult circumstances, worth 35 million VND. The People's Court of Region 6 - Phu Tho presented 70 gifts totaling 6.6 million VND. The Agricultural and Rural Development Bank of Vietnam, Phu Tho Branch, presented 20 gifts to disadvantaged students at Phung Xa Secondary School, totaling 12 million VND. On the occasion of Vietnam's Disabled Persons Day on April 18, 2026, the People's Committee of the commune also presented 20 gifts to disabled people in the area, including 7 gifts for disabled children, totaling 5.6 million VND. Currently, the locality is preparing to distribute an additional 200 gifts and 100 support packages to disadvantaged children and students to encourage them to strive for success in their studies and lives.
Besides providing material support, Cam Khe commune pays special attention to building a safe living environment for children, especially in preventing accidents, injuries, and drowning during the summer. Schools strengthen the dissemination of information and education on accident prevention skills, water safety skills, and first aid skills for students through educational activities, extracurricular activities, and class activities. Educational institutions regularly remind students not to swim or bathe in ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, canals, and dangerous areas without permission; and organize for 100% of students and parents to sign commitments to strictly comply with regulations on drowning prevention before the summer break of the 2025-2026 school year. Coordination between schools, families, and the local community continues to be strengthened; "Safe School" and "Safe Summer" models are implemented, contributing to raising awareness and self-protection skills for students.
It can be affirmed that the attention of the Party Committee and the government of Cam Khe commune, along with the joint efforts of organizations, associations, and the entire society, has helped children, especially those in difficult circumstances, to receive better care, have better conditions for learning, training, and comprehensive development.
