At the Conference, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida highlighted the significance of the first AZEC Summit held this time. Prime Minister Kishida affirmed that AZEC plays an important role in promoting innovation, supporting implementation, building transparent, flexible, strong and reliable supply chains; expanding the market for clean energy and advanced technology, promoting the development and coordination of energy transition policies, in accordance with the situation and conditions of each country; promoting public-private partnerships and private cooperation to promote the energy transition in the region.
ASEAN countries and Australia highly appreciated Japan's initiative and the organization of the Summit for the first time; considered AZEC an important forum for member countries to share information on each country's efforts, thereby maximizing the potential for regional cooperation to support countries in the region in energy transition in a manner appropriate to each country's circumstances; at the same time, committed to close coordination to achieve all three goals of reducing carbon emissions, ensuring energy security and economic growth in Asia.

Attending the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a strong message with the theme "Shared will, high determination and drastic action towards a zero net emission developed Asia ". The Prime Minister shared about the increasing impacts of climate change, thus requiring the international community to have determination and practical action to achieve the goal of zero net emissions.
The Prime Minister affirmed that with responsibility to the world and the entire people, Vietnam has implemented many drastic solutions with new awareness, thinking, methodology, and approach to implement commitments at COP26, notably the development of national strategies and plans such as the National Climate Change Strategy, Green Growth Strategy, Power Plan VIII towards renewable energy as the mainstay, developing 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice; developing and implementing the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), issuing the JETP Implementation Plan and announcing the Resource Mobilization Plan to implement JETP; continuing to build institutions, perfecting the legal framework including the Petroleum Law, Electricity Law, Land Law towards promoting the development of renewable energy under market mechanisms, developing biomass power and selling carbon credits.

To contribute to realizing the goals of AZEC, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that the areas for promoting cooperation in the coming time should focus on research, development, diversification of clean energy sources and new technologies, promoting technology transfer to ensure clean energy sources are widely accessible and meet affordability in the Asian region; ensuring clean energy conversion in accordance with each country's conditions.
At the same time, the Prime Minister said it is necessary to further promote new climate finance mechanisms, public-private partnerships and cooperation in the private sector to facilitate developing countries' access to preferential capital sources; strengthen cooperation in training high-quality human resources, smart governance and perfecting modern, suitable and effective market institutions for each country.

The Prime Minister affirmed that with high determination and strong action, and active and effective assistance from developed countries to developing countries, an Asia with net zero emissions will become a reality, bringing prosperity to the community of Asian countries and a sustainable future globally.
