Accordingly, students of the program will receive free training, attractive benefits, and the opportunity to participate in international technology projects. Vingroup 's fourth-year AI engineer training program will start enrollment from April 1 to May 15, 2023, aiming to find 70 outstanding students to participate in a comprehensive, completely free training program.
The program is open to final year students, postgraduate students, and young engineers with no more than 3 years of experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science . Candidates must major in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, Telecommunications, Mathematics and Information Technology, or other related technical majors such as Automation, Computational Biomedicine, etc.
To be considered for admission, candidates must have a minimum GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 and a TOEIC English score of 600 or equivalent. From now until May 15, 2023, the program will officially accept applications (online) nationwide. After this period, until the end of June 2023, candidates will go through the following selection rounds: (1) screening of applications; (2) professional assessment with basic knowledge of Mathematics (Analysis, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics), Machine Learning, English, Programming and finally (3) interview with a panel of experts.
The program has attracted more than 1,000 excellent profiles from within and outside the country, and has received and trained 240 of the most outstanding students, possessing national and international academic achievements and titles.
The training roadmap of the program is divided into two main phases. The foundation phase lasts 4 months, including basic and advanced Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, AI Ethics, Python Programming and additional courses on management thinking. In addition, students will participate in a series of specialized seminars related to key technology projects being implemented and discuss directly with Vingroup's team of experts.
After completing the 4-month foundation course, students will enter the Internship Phase, experience a professional working environment and participate in Vingroup's high-class technology projects such as Comprehensive Virtual Assistant exclusively for Vietnamese people; Digital platform supporting medical imaging diagnosis or Ecosystem of intelligent image analysis solutions, etc. Leading these projects are leading domestic and international experts such as Prof. Vu Ha Van (Scientific Director of VinBigData, Professor at Yale University); Mr. Truong Quoc Hung (General Director of VinBrain Company),
In addition, students can also contribute to large-scale projects and have scientific publications at leading conferences and journals on artificial intelligence of the world's largest scientific organization IEEE, in the fields of Computer Vision, Medical Image Processing, Language and Speech Processing.

Launching its first course in 2020, the AI Engineer Training Program is one of the long-term efforts demonstrating Vingroup's serious and systematic investment in the development of Vietnam's high-tech human resources. The program has attracted more than 1,000 excellent profiles at home and abroad, and has received and trained 240 of the most outstanding students, possessing national and international academic achievements and titles.
In 2022 alone, 60 trainees have won 10 awards, 6 scholarships and 7 scientific publications at home and abroad. Recently, an outstanding student of the Vingroup AI Engineer Training Program, Hoang Gia Phu (intern in the Virtual Assistant Technology block, VinBigData) won a full scholarship for a Master's degree in Natural Language Processing at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, UAE and a full scholarship for a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas, USA.
Along with Hoang Gia Phu, students in the same class also won many prestigious scholarships such as Full PhD Scholarship at the Institute of Applied Artificial Intelligence (A2I2) at Deakin University - Australia; Full PhD Scholarship in Computer Science at Singapore Management University; Full Master's Scholarship in Robotics at the University of Pennsylvania - USA.
