Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the 15th Annual Pioneers Meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Dalian City (Liaoning Province, China) and work in China from June 24 to 27, at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab.

Speaking to the press, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai said that this year's WEF Dalian is one of the most important major events in the Asia- Pacific region, attracting more than 1,500 delegates, including Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Polish President Andrzej Sebastian Duda and nearly 100 leaders and representatives of countries, organizations, international businesses and China.

Opportunity to introduce a dynamic, confident and attractive Vietnam

“The fact that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was invited to attend the Conference for two consecutive years demonstrates the respect and appreciation of the WEF and the international business community for Vietnam's position, role and contributions to global and regional economic growth,” Ambassador Pham Sao Mai emphasized.

First of all, through the meeting with leaders, policy makers and the global business community, the Prime Minister's participation in WEF opens up opportunities for Vietnam to interact and integrate with the world economy, and is an opportunity for Vietnam to introduce to the world its outstanding socio-economic development achievements in recent times.

This will demonstrate the image of a dynamic, actively integrated, confident and attractive Vietnam to global corporations, thereby promoting mutually beneficial cooperation and attracting resources to develop the country.

Through this conference, the Ambassador believes that Vietnam can grasp new issues and trends of the world economy; exchange with other parties about development thinking and governance at the national and global levels; contribute to solving common world issues such as promoting growth, developing new industries, responding to climate change, ensuring food security, etc.

Another meaning pointed out by Ambassador Pham Sao Mai is that Vietnam can take this opportunity to strengthen exchanges and promote relations with countries, partners, and international organizations, further enhancing the country's position and prestige.

The participation of the Prime Minister and the Vietnamese delegation will continue to promote cooperation and partnership with WEF in an increasingly substantive direction on the basis of the Vietnam-WEF Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for the 2023-2026 period, and promote cooperation with WEF member enterprises in areas such as green transformation, digital transformation, energy, and science and technology, according to the Vietnamese Ambassador to China.

Vietnam-China relations: Higher political trust, more substantive cooperation

Sharing more about his expectations for the results of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip to China, Ambassador Pham Sao Mai reaffirmed that this is the second time in two consecutive years that the head of the Vietnamese Government has visited and attended the WEF Conference in China.

This demonstrates the high regard the Vietnamese Party and Government attach to the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

In the context of the deep, substantive and comprehensive development of the relationship between the two Parties and countries, Ambassador Pham Sao Mai assessed that the Prime Minister's working trip to attend WEF Dalian 2024 and work in China will be an opportunity for the two countries' senior leaders to discuss in depth specific measures to continue effectively implementing the common perceptions reached between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries.
