“The development of digital tourism platforms at the national level is consistent with the current general policy of the Government and the Prime Minister: Digital transformation needs to be focused, key, substantial, and effective, avoiding the situation of "a hundred flowers blooming", overlapping, waste, and especially the data must be "correct, sufficient, clean, and alive" - Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh said.

Only digital transformation can help businesses grasp new consumer trends, best meet customer requirements, bring the best experiences to customers, and at the same time, digital transformation also helps businesses optimize costs and optimize their resources.
Speaking at the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha analyzed that digital transformation is a major policy that focuses on developing a number of priority sectors and fields with high readiness levels, including digital tourism. However, implementing digital transformation in tourism effectively and with practical value requires us to have a methodical strategy, focus on key points, and create changes in the management, operation, and governance methods of the tourism industry. Therefore, some of the key points that Vietnam is promoting and implementing are:
Firstly, promulgate a national strategy for developing the digital economy and digital society until 2025, with a vision to 2030, which sets out a number of key tasks for the tourism industry such as building and organizing the implementation of a digital data platform on cultural heritages, scenic spots, tourist areas, tourist attractions, tourism service establishments, and an open Vietnamese tourism market so that users can enrich resources; establishing a tourism management and business platform connecting supply and demand; a digital museum system network; specialized training in smart tourism, digital transformation in the tourism sector at universities and postgraduate training institutions in the tourism industry....
Second, build and perfect institutions and a synchronous legal environment to promote digital transformation and green transformation in tourism; establish legal standards and codes of conduct in the digital environment to form a digital society. Along with building open policies on investment, access to land, resources, and credit to attract investment in tourism.
Third, develop digital infrastructure and digital applications such as Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), cloud computing, mobile, big data analysis (SMAC). Exploit the advantages of 123 million mobile subscribers; 77.93 million Internet users, 70 million social network users to develop a digital society. This is a great advantage not only for Vietnamese tourism businesses but also for businesses investing or linking to develop tourism chains with Vietnam.
Fourth, promote human resource development because without digital human resources, there is no digital tourism. Support businesses to transform and adapt to new trends, minimizing the impacts of large-scale labor shifts and replacements. Have policies to attract experts and high-quality human resources in information technology and digital transformation to serve the tourism industry. And Vietnam will exploit the advantages of internet users and mobile devices to form a digital society.
Fifth, promote public investment activities focusing on infrastructure, essential infrastructure, promotion and advertising of tourism products and services; link and connect international tourism. Take public investment, attract and lead private investment and foreign investment. With its position and role in the economy, smart tourism and digital tourism must be one of the main driving forces of Vietnam's digital economy. The Government desires and hopes that Tourism will be among the leading industries in national digital transformation, creating new developments for the industry and inspiring the whole country in digital transformation./.
