According to retired Colonel and former Swiss intelligence officer Jacques Bo, the current Russian Army is well organized and coordinated at the unit level and has a unified weapon system. This gives the Russian Army a significant advantage in the conflict in Ukraine.
While the characteristics of individual military equipment and devices used by the armed forces of different countries are similar, an important factor is the ability of military officers and soldiers to master them to make them work well together and achieve the highest efficiency. According to expert Jacques Beau, this is a significant advantage of the Russian armed forces.

He also expressed doubts about whether NATO could achieve such coordination between its weapons systems and troops. Despite NATO's common standards, each country's military equipment and weapons have their own unique characteristics, making it very complicated and difficult to integrate them into a unified system in large-scale combat.
Earlier, Austrian Army Colonel Markus Reisner said that Russian troops are destroying the fortified defensive positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with powerful artillery and glide bombs. These are the factors that are changing the situation of the conflict.
Meanwhile, the New York Times (NYT) quoted Ukrainian army soldiers as saying that the AFU currently has a "relative surplus" of cluster bombs, but very few types of ammunition are effective against Russian tanks and other vehicles.
“ Artillery decides the outcome of the battle. Whoever has more of them wins,” said artillery commander AFU Captain Vladislav Slominsky, who was fighting in the Kurakhovo region.
Artillery commander Sergeant Alexander Andrienko told the NYT that his position was receiving 20 shells a day, compared with 80 in the summer of 2023.
Due to ammunition shortages and reduced supplies, Kiev's allies are concerned that the Russian military is preparing for a major counteroffensive in the summer of 2024, according to Bloomberg.
Regarding the battlefield situation, while the Russian attacks on Chasov Yar and Berdychi are taking place, the offensive on Robotine is taking place slowly, but effectively.
Leader of the “We are with Russia” movement Vladimir Rogov told RIA Novosti news agency that the Russian military disrupted the AFU’s rotation north of Rabotino and in the area of the village of Malaya Tokmachka.
Russian long-range attacks prevented the replenishment of troops and equipment to Robotine and north-west of Verbovoye. The AFU organized two counterattacks but they were unsuccessful. Basically, the Russian front line was about 1km from the road connecting Robotine with Malaya Tokmachka, so any supply movement to this strategic village was attacked.

Meanwhile, the leader of the Belgorod region said that the area was under threat of missile attack and warned residents.
According to multiple sources, Ukraine has just launched rockets from the Vampir rocket launcher system at the city of Belgorod. The air defense system worked actively and intercepted 10 rockets aimed at the city. Earlier, on April 5, 53 Ukrainian drones attempted to enter Russian airspace. According to the Russian Defense Ministry , the air defense system shot down 44 drones in the Rostov region and 6 others in the Kuban region. Unmanned vehicles were also shot down in the Saratov, Kursk and Belgorod regions.
