On the morning of April 30, the ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) officially took place on Le Duan Street and central streets of Ho Chi Minh City.
13,000 people from 56 groups participated in the parade. The three guest groups were the Chinese, Lao and Cambodian armies. Among them, the Culture - Sports - Media group had the participation of many artists. People's Artist Kim Xuan was the oldest. Initially, she was invited to sit in the row of seats reserved for delegates. But later, the female artist refused and wanted to join the parade lineup.
People's Artist Kim Xuan shared with reporters of the Vietnam Law Newspaper: “On April 30, 1975, I turned 19 years old, wearing a white ao dai, and went out on Le Duan Street at 3am to salute the liberation army. Each 10-year milestone is memorable to me. Therefore, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, I want to march, join the crowd to relive the unforgettable feeling of that time.
This year I am almost 70 years old, if I do not participate in this parade, I will not have the opportunity to participate again, because my legs are weak and my health is not good. I am grateful and proud that over the past 50 years our country has grown stronger and received the trust of the people.

According to the artist, in order to have full days to practice the parade with her colleagues and juniors, she refused and balanced her filming and recording schedule. Every time she marched, seeing thousands of people from many provinces and cities waving, cheering, and encouraging the soldiers in general and artists in particular, she could not hide her emotions.
The artists were all extremely proud to be a "piece" in the HCM City artists' team participating in the parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
For director Hoang Nhat Nam, the days of practice to prepare for the grand ceremony were a very special time for him and his fellow artists:
“We had many long practice sessions, with unpredictable rain and sunshine, but no one complained. On the contrary, we encouraged each other to try our best to keep everything neat and tidy. On days of heavy rain, everyone still happily kept their formation, laughing and joking to relieve fatigue.
That shows that the spirit of solidarity and national pride always exists in everyone, whether they are artists, athletes or veterans. To me, those moments are truly beautiful and memorable."

Miss Bao Ngoc expressed: “The moment of wearing the ao dai in the heart of the city named after Uncle Ho - on a special day like today - really makes my heart flutter, full of pride and gratitude. Each step in the ceremony is not only the presence of an individual, but also a sincere gratitude sent to the generations who sacrificed for national independence.”
Miss Intercontinental 2022, with a sense of responsibility to the community, Bao Ngoc is always deeply aware of the role of spreading cultural values and patriotism to today's young generation: "I believe that history is not only in books, but also exists in every action, every choice of life and dedication of each person. Today, being a part of that flow, I believe even more in the aspiration to rise up, in the belief in the young generation of Vietnam - those who both preserve identity and pioneer in creating the future".

During the training, Miss Tieu Vy also bought water for the soldiers on duty. |
Meanwhile, for Tieu Vy, the moment of immersing herself in the parade through the streets, seeing the forest of national flags fluttering, thousands of people sharing the same joy - the boundless joy of living in peace , freedom, and independence, was the first time she truly felt small. She also felt extremely lucky and proud to be a part of the nation's historical milestone.
Talking about the training sessions, Tieu Vy said: "The moment that touched me the most was when the training session suddenly rained and soaked our clothes, but the Vietnamese military forces still stood tall and did not leave their positions.
Everyone hoped the rain would stop so they could practice best for the ceremony. A few minutes later, the rain stopped completely - like a boost from nature. The spirit of discipline, resilience and unity between the army and the people made me feel grateful and more proud of the Vietnamese spirit."
