More than 22 years working at Pa Vay Su Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Si Lo Lau commune) is a long period of time that teacher Nguyen Thi Ngoc (born in 1977, hometown in Me Linh, Hanoi ) has devoted her entire youth to the career of spreading knowledge in the highlands.

Ms. Ngoc confided: In 2001, she started working at Pa Vay Su Primary School. At that time, the only way to get to the school was by car to the center of Dao San commune, then you had to walk nearly 18km of forest road, taking 6-7 hours to cross mountains and streams to get there. At that time, the commune had no market, no electricity, people's lives were still difficult, many parents did not pay attention to their children's education.

Not discouraged, not giving up, she persistently went to each village, each house to persuade students to go to class. She even waited for the time when parents came home from the fields to talk and persuade them. At first, she only received head shakes, but with perseverance and dedication, she gradually gained the trust of the people, and sent their children to school to learn.

Wholeheartedly guide and guide each student

Ms. Ngoc enthusiastically guides and guides each student.

From classes with only a few students at first, now Pa Vay Su Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Si Lo Lau Commune) has taken on a new look. The school is spacious, the infrastructure is synchronously invested, from the boarding housing area, kitchen to playground. The most gratifying thing is that every classroom is filled with the voices and laughter of students, proving the perseverance and persistence of teachers.

Ms. Ngoc shared: “This school is not only where I work, but has become my second home - where I have entrusted my youth, my love for the profession and many memories of more than 2 decades of being close to the border and the village, attached to the students. And, just hearing the school bell ring, seeing all the students come to class, I feel that all the hardships and sacrifices are worth it.”

Sharing the same passion as Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, teacher Vu Van Lam has also spent 9 years of his youth dedicated to the career of spreading knowledge at Mu Sang Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Dao San commune).

Teacher Lam shared: Here, the complex terrain, harsh climate, and severe water shortage make the work of "sowing letters" for teachers even more difficult.

Teacher Vu Van Lam - teacher of Mu Sang Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Dao San commune, waits for water far from school

Teacher Vu Van Lam (Mu Sang Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Dao San Commune) gets water for daily activities.

Every day, teachers have to carry 20-30 liter cans, travel more than 2km, along winding slopes to carry water for daily use. On hot days or during rush hours in the morning and afternoon, the task of fetching water becomes even more difficult. However, despite all the difficulties and challenges, teachers have never stopped worrying that one day knowledge will open the door to a bright future for children in the highlands.

Teachers in border areas always want to light up the dreams of students in border areas.

Teachers always try their best to light up the dreams of students in border areas.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Ngoc and teacher Vu Van Lam are just two of many teachers who have been working day and night tirelessly and devotedly on the journey of "sowing letters" in the remote border area of Lai Chau . Perhaps, it is their love for the profession and their students that has become the fire and strength for them to overcome hardships and challenges and voluntarily stick with disadvantaged children in the highlands, to kindle in their students dreams, beliefs and aspirations to rise up and change the future.
