Hanoi FC decided to extend the contract with coach Makoto Teguramori. This is the reward of the Japanese strategist, because he helped the capital representative have a quality sprint to finish second in the V-League.
Coach Teguramori joined Hanoi FC in the middle of the season to replace Mr. Le Duc Tuan, who was dismissed due to poor performance in V-League and National Cup.
Initially, Mr. Teguramori's contract had a clause to lead until the end of the season, then based on the performance in V-League, the two sides will continue to negotiate.

After 12 matches, coach Teguramori and Hanoi FC won 8, drew 2, lost 2, and earned 26 points. Although the capital team could not defend the throne, they still finished second overall and chased Nam Dinh FC until the final rounds.
Thanks to that, coach Teguramori was retained by Hanoi FC. The former coach of U.23 Japan will continue to take charge next season, with the ambition of returning to the V-League throne after 3 years of waiting.
Assisting Mr. Teguramori is expert Yusuke Adachi, former Technical Director (GDKT) of the Vietnam Football Federation. Mr. Adachi was invited by Hanoi FC to be in charge of guiding and outlining strategies for the youth training system and Hanoi youth teams.
Coach Teguramori is the second Japanese strategist to have led the Hanoi FC, after Daiki Iwamasa, who also "put out the fire" for the Hanoi team in the middle of last season but left when the V-League ended.
Mr. Teguramori has experience coaching at the Japanese U.23 level, with the peak being the 2016 U.23 Asian Championship (coming from behind to beat U.23 Korea of coach Shin Tae-yong with a score of 3-2).
During the 2017-2018 period, Mr. Teguramori was chosen as an assistant to coach Akira Nishino in the Japanese national team. When Mr. Nishino's short term ended, Mr. Teguramori also returned to the J-League, before having a short adventure in Thailand as "captain" of BG Pathum (2022, 2023 - 2024) and Chonburi (2023), winning 2 titles in 2 years.
Coach Teguramori is the third coach to take the "hot seat" at Hanoi FC this season, after Mr. Le Duc Tuan and Hoang Van Phuc. The appointment of Mr. Teguramori also marks the 10th coach change in just the past 5 years for Hanoi FC.
Hanoi FC is determined to compete for the championship next season. The capital team has successfully recruited Hendrio Araujo, an experienced foreign player who has shone in Binh Dinh and Nam Dinh. In addition, the team has also extended the contracts of a number of key players, including captain Nguyen Van Quyet.
It is expected that there will be more new players arriving at Hang Day Stadium so that coach Teguramori can shape a fighting squad for next season.
