Information from VFF said: On May 2, the World Football Federation (FIFA) announced disciplinary action against Phu Tho Club due to its involvement in match-fixing in the national Second Division.
It is known that recently, FIFA has coordinated with VFF to request Phu Tho Club to provide information related to the above issues. The negative review is conducted regularly by FIFA and in parallel with the efforts to prevent negative football in football of member national football federations.
"After the inspection and analysis process, the FIFA Disciplinary Board has announced the decisions to handle a number of related teams, including Phu Tho Club. Accordingly, Phu Tho Club was eliminated from the 2025 National Second Division and had to play in a lower division due to match-fixing behavior. This decision has been forwarded by FIFA to Phu Tho Club and Phu Tho Club has the right to appeal to the FIFA Complaints Resolution Board within 10 days from the date of the Decision". VFF emphasized that it will continue to coordinate with FIFA and relevant authorities to review and handle according to VFF's disciplinary regulations.
VFF affirmed that it has been and will continue to strictly handle negative behaviors, while strengthening control work throughout the entire national football system.
