Newell's coach Cristian Fabbiani candidly shared: "I hope Messi will return to play for the club, just for four months, whenever he wants. A league only lasts that long. He could absolutely reunite with Ever Banega and form a formidable partnership."

Messi spent five years in the youth team of Newell's Old Boys, scoring nearly 500 goals for his hometown club before joining Barcelona.
