Hon Ba Peak is a mountain peak in Hon Ba Nature Reserve, Khanh Hoa Province, about 50 km southwest of Nha Trang. The mountain peak is 1,578 m above sea level.
With a temperate climate all year round, this place is also known as "Da Lat of the coastal city". The winding, foggy road to the top of the mountain makes visitors feel the majesty of the land and sky here.
Hon Ba Peak is also known as "Hon Ba Yersin" because this place bears the historical mark of many years ago. In 1915, the French doctor - explorer Alexandre Yersin came here to live, research and grow rare medicinal plants. On the top of the mountain, there is still this doctor's old house.
Hon Ba Nature Reserve with its year-round temperate climate is also known as the "Da Lat of the coastal city".
From Suoi Dau intersection, you turn onto the road leading to Hon Ba peak. This road is about 37 km long, steep and winding, through many majestic natural landscapes with mountains, forests, streams and waterfalls.

On the top of Hon Ba, Dr. Yersin's house is a highlight. In 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ranked the working house of scientist Alexandre Yersin as a national monument.
The working house, also known as the experimental station, of Dr. Alexandre Yersin on the top of Hon Ba Mountain was built around 1914. This place is closely associated with the life and career of scientific research and medicine serving humanity of the scientist Yersin.
The two-story wooden house and solid water tank were used by Dr. Yersin as a place to live while working and researching on the top of Hon Ba Mountain. The house foundation and water tank still exist today.
The weather and climate in Hon Ba are humid and often rain, so the flora here is also rich.
Tourists "check in" on top of Hon Ba
There are currently two tours operating to visit this location. The first tour visits Hon Ba peak by bus, picking up guests at Kong Forest Tourist Park (Suoi Cat commune, old Cam Lam district). Visitors will be able to breathe the air of the Nature Reserve when using an open-top bus to transport guests to the top of Hon Ba. Visitors can visit Kong Forest Park to play zipline, go off-road driving and bathe in the stream.
Ticket price is 300,000 VND/adult, 210,000 VND/child. Discounted ticket for Khanh Hoa people: 180,000 VND/adult, 126,000 VND/child. Transportation service from Nha Trang to Kong Forest Park (the gathering point for the tour to visit Hon Ba peak) is 100,000 VND/person.
The second tour is "Following the footsteps of Dr. A. Yersin" priced at 965,000 VND/person. Places to visit in the tour include: Yersin Museum, A. Yersin Park, Hon Ba, Dr. Yersin's tomb, Oceanographic Museum.
