The girl who was noticed by Thoai My and Binh Tinh since childhood entered the final round of the Golden Bell of Traditional Music.

Girl Nguyen Thi My Duyen, born in 2003, from Tien Giang (now Dong Thap province) was lucky to be chosen by the audience to join 8 other contestants in the final round of the 2025 Golden Bell ranking.

The biggest change in this year’s Golden Bell Awards is in the selection round. 32 contestants from the preliminary round will enter the 4 selection rounds, broadcast every Sunday evening on HTV9 in August.

The contestants pair up to sing excerpts from reformed opera, unlike before, when they sing three verses of a traditional song alone.

My Duyen competed on the second night of the selection round with contestant Thanh Nho with the performance Tinh trai y thiep .

However, she was not convincing enough for judges Ho Ngoc Trinh, Vo Minh Lam, and Ngoc Doi to be one of the two contestants of the night chosen to move on to the next round. But guest judge Chi Tam recognized My Duyen's potential and put her on the list of breakthrough contestants.

My Duyen, Ly Trung Cuong, Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Trang, and Pham Van Tan anxiously waited for the results of the audience's vote, which began right after the selection night from 4 to 12 o'clock on August 25.

During that short voting period, the audience was surprised to see artist Binh Tinh share information from the fanpage Golden Bell of Traditional Music , hoping everyone would support My Duyen.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Binh Tinh said that she and My Duyen met in 2017 in the Super Kids Talent Contest, the same year as the rising young actor Trong Nhan. My Duyen joined the team she led and like Trong Nhan, My Duyen called Binh Tinh her adoptive mother.

Binh Tinh confided: "When Duyen competed in the Super Kid Talent Contest, she was only about 14 years old. I was impressed with her because she was pretty and had a promising voice. After the contest, my daughter and I still texted each other occasionally. I also staged a performance for her to compete in the Garden Talent Contest.

After a while, he was active in Tien Giang, and I rarely had the chance to meet him. Yesterday, I accidentally surfed the internet and saw him post asking everyone to like and vote for him to be in the top 9 of the Golden Bell of Traditional Music , so I shared the post calling on the audience to support him. Now, hearing that he has entered the final ranking, I am so happy!

My Duyen was noticed by Thoai My since she was 14 years old.

Also in 2017, My Duyen participated in the contest Road to Traditional Folk Song Fame . She was the youngest contestant of the contest.

That year, even though her singing was still immature, artist Thoai My chose My Duyen to join her team because she saw her potential.

In this contest, Duyen said she lived in a family with a mother who loved reformed opera, so at the age of 4 she started practicing traditional singing. To win over Thoai My, Duyen competed in the performance Mother's Heart , singing with her biological mother.

Many years have passed, the little girl My Duyen has grown up, very beautiful and still pursuing her passion for singing. She won the gold medal of the Nine Rivers Singing Contest , won fourth prize in the Garden Talent Contest...

Currently, Duyen is studying vocal music at the Ho Chi Minh City College of Culture and Arts. Besides Cai Luong, Duyen is also known for Bolero music.

During the livestream at noon on August 25, the organizers also held a draw to divide the contestants into the coaches' teams, to prepare for the first night of the final ranking round on the evening of September 7.

Artist Ngoc Doi's team includes contestants Nguyen Phu Yen , Dang Thi Thuy Duong, Huynh Kim Tho. Vo Minh Lam's team includes Vuong Quan Tri, Pham Ngoc Nu, Nguyen Thi My Duyen. Artist Ho Ngoc Trinh's team includes Nguyen Tan Dat, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nhu, Le Thi Ha Nhu.
