
On the morning of September 29th (the 8th day of the 8th lunar month of the Year of the Snake), the Traditional Theatre, in collaboration with the Hai Phong Theatre Artists Association, organized a celebration of the 16th Vietnam Theatre Day - 2025 and the Ancestor Commemoration Day of the National Theatre Profession.
Attending the ceremony and offering incense were leaders from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Hai Phong Union of Literature and Arts, along with a large number of artists, officials, actors, and businesses operating in the field of theater and performing arts in the city.

The commemoration ceremony for the founders of the theatrical arts was held in a solemn and sacred atmosphere, expressing profound gratitude to the founders of Vietnamese theater and paying tribute to the generations of artists who have contributed to building and developing Vietnamese theatrical arts.
This is also an opportunity for the city's artists and writers to interact, share experiences, affirm the spirit of solidarity and creativity, and continue and develop traditions in the new era.
Over the past year (from September 2024 to September 2025), members of the Hai Phong Stage Artists Association have achieved many outstanding accomplishments at major festivals.

At the 2024 National Professional Cai Luong Festival held in Can Tho , the play "Never Give Up" by the Cai Luong Troupe of the Hai Phong Traditional Stage Theatre won a silver medal; Meritorious Artist Kim Oanh and artist Thuy Nga won gold medals; and artist Hoang Hung won a silver medal.
At the 5th National Professional Theatre Festival on the "Image of the Vietnamese People's Public Security Soldier" (Hanoi, July 2025), the play "The Oath on Flagpole Mountain" won a bronze medal; Meritorious Artist Kim Oanh, artist Thuy Nga, and artist Hoang Hung all won gold medals; and Meritorious Artist Minh Tuan won a silver medal.

In the field of traditional Vietnamese opera (cheo), the play "Ho Xuan Huong" by the Hai Phong Cheo Troupe participated in the 2024 Hanoi Theatre Festival and won a silver medal. Meritorious Artists Thuy Dung, Thuy Duong, and Van Mon won gold medals; Meritorious Artists Thanh Binh, Hoang Yen, and Duy Thanh won silver medals.
The Hai Phong Drama Troupe (now under the Hai Phong Contemporary Theatre) achieved outstanding success at the National Professional Drama Festival, with the play "Catching the Demon" winning a gold medal. Meritorious Artists Thanh Nhan, Bich Ngoc, and Dang Khoa received gold medals; artist Quang Thien won a silver medal.

Additionally, at the China-ASEAN Theatre Festival Week held in Nanning (Guangxi, China), Meritorious Artist Kim Oanh and artist Duong Dung were awarded the Outstanding Actor/Actress prize by the Organizing Committee.
The event commemorating the 16th Vietnam Theatre Day - 2025 and the Ancestor Worship Ceremony for the traditional Vietnamese theatre profession contributes to rekindling professional pride, encouraging artists, actors, and theatre staff to continue striving, creating, and spreading the values of traditional theatre in modern life.
