The police are verifying and clarifying the case of a CAND Newspaper reporter being assaulted while working.

(CLO) Accordingly, on November 6, Senior Lieutenant Le Van Thanh, a reporter from the Central Highlands region of the CAND newspaper, went to work at the old Dak Lak Provincial General Hospital, Mai Hac De Street, Tan Thanh Ward, Buon Ma Thuot City, and was assaulted by a person claiming to be a security guard.

According to reporter Le Van Thanh, at around 9:20 a.m. on November 6, when he arrived to work, collecting documents to write an article reflecting on the state of the public hospital that had been abandoned for many years, the facilities were degraded, causing waste, and easily forming a gathering place for social evils. At that time, the hospital gate was open and there was no one watching.

As he was about to leave, a man came up and asked, “Who are you? Who let you in here?” Mr. Thanh introduced himself as a journalist, on assignment, and asked back, “Who are you?”

This man claimed to be a security guard hired by the Dak Lak Province Department of Finance to guard the place. The man suddenly became angry, cursed at reporter Le Van Thanh, ran inside to get a piece of wood and threatened to hit the reporter. Then, this man rushed over, used his hands to squeeze the reporter's neck and arms, pressed his head against the hospital gate and pushed him out. The man also snatched reporter Le Van Thanh's camera and took it to the security room.

At that time, reporter Le Van Thanh contacted the Dak Lak Provincial Police to report the incident. A few minutes later, the 113 Police force and Tan Thanh Ward Police, Buon Ma Thuot City were present at the scene. The police invited reporter Le Van Thanh and the man to the Tan Thanh Ward Police headquarters for questioning.

At the police station, the person who assaulted and confiscated reporter Le Van Thanh's camera was identified as Mr. Khuc Tai Hoi (residing in Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province). Mr. Hoi is a security guard of Dai Hai Professional Security - Bodyguard Service Company Limited (Buon Ma Thuot city). This company was hired by the Dak Lak Department of Finance to look after the old Dak Lak General Hospital while waiting for the auction.

The incident is currently being verified and clarified by the police.
