The workshop is an important forum for researchers, managers,educators and artists to discuss and propose solutions to preserve and promote folk culture in urban life in Da Nang.
Thereby, the workshop was organized to identify, evaluate the current situation, propose solutions to preserve and develop folk cultural values in modern life of Da Nang city.
The workshop presented 26 papers by managers, researchers and members of the Folklore Association on urban folk culture and the relationship between urban space and folk culture.

Delegates at the workshop said that in the context of urbanization and globalization, traditional values, especially folk culture, are facing the risk of fading and changing; however, many new opportunities for regeneration and promotion are also opening up.
Therefore, preserving traditional cultural identity is not only a responsibility to the past, but also an investment for the sustainable future development of the city.
At the workshop, the presentations clearly stated that urban development is inevitable but also an opportunity to nurture and revive traditional folk values. In particular, exploiting public spaces (such as parks, communal houses, historical sites) to organize festivals and perform folk art is one of the feasible solutions.

In particular, the presentation by author Bui Van Tieng also mentioned the risks and opportunities for developing types of folk cultural heritage after the merger of Da Nang - Quang Nam .
At the workshop, many delegates also reflected on areas such as: festivals and folk beliefs; folk art; cuisine; literature; philosophy and folk tales in urban life; at the same time, proposed solutions to promote folk cultural values in Da Nang city through schools to educate and inspire young people.
