Lily (Ho An Nhien) is a child translator who has been translating books since she was 8 years old. She has many translations such as: Silk Roads (children's edition), 3 picture books: Guardians of Childhood by William Joyce... When exposed to Lily's translated works, many people are surprised and amazed by her translation ability. Even though the translations contain very new words, even difficult concepts even for adults with translation experience, Lily still translates very smoothly.

“It takes a village to raise a child,” is the opening quote of the book. Raising Lily was a family affair, but we still see the mother’s role as extremely important. Her mother was very serious about preparing for her child’s birth, growing up with her every day. Lily’s mother taught her seemingly difficult knowledge about history, finance, medicine… from the very activities of daily life.

In addition, Lily's mother is also aware of the role of setting an example. Although she is an expert in the financial field, she still constantly studies on her own, improving her knowledge in areas where she is limited. Also from the example of her parents, Lily always has the awareness to study on her own.

A thin book, but containing many stories about parents' experiences in raising children. Because it is simple and sincere, the stories are very attractive and have great inspiration, so that every parent can practice, helping their children develop their full potential", reader Khieu Thi Hoai shared.

Reading the book “ You are the child who grew up with freedom ”, we will no longer be surprised at what Lily has done, because she was raised by her family in an atmosphere of freedom and love. From that atmosphere, the family and Lily read books together, participated in activities to promote reading culture, translated books, explored the world and themselves... This is not a book about “child prodigies”, but rather sharing experiences and memories from the family, thereby helping parents realize that the core is to let children develop as themselves.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Thach, founder of the "Rural Book" program, Lily's parents have persistently created a word bank, both Vietnamese and English, in many different fields to help their child understand concepts within their capabilities. They let their child freely imagine and present, then debate and learn from each other. Therefore, Lily's books are the tireless efforts of her father, mother and the translator himself.
