Attending the conference were comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee; Major General Pham Kim Dinh, Director of the Department of Political Work - Ministry of Public Security ; leaders of the city's departments, branches and sectors.
The conference is a practical activity of the City Police force to celebrate important events: The 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Police Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025).
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Major General Bui Quang Binh, Party Secretary and Director of the City Police Department, affirmed: Imbued with the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, and those who emulate are the most patriotic", in the past 5 years, despite many difficulties and challenges, under the comprehensive leadership of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the City Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, the City Police force has promoted the tradition of solidarity, bravery, intelligence, innovation, constantly striving to compete, achieving many feats and outstanding achievements in all aspects of work, maintaining political security, ensuring social order and safety, effectively serving the tasks of socio-economic development and foreign affairs of the city.
During the period 2020 - 2025, more than 35,000 collectives and individuals of the City Police Department were honored to receive noble awards from the Party, State, Ministry of Public Security and Hai Phong city.
Major General Bui Quang Binh emphasized: Faced with new requirements in the period of national transformation, aiming to build Hai Phong into a typical city of Asia as expected by General Secretary To Lam, each officer and soldier of the city's police needs to constantly innovate thinking, methods, and actions, uphold a sense of responsibility, and successfully complete assigned tasks.
At the Conference, delegates interacted with typical advanced collectives and individuals in the emulation movement For National Security in the period of 2020 - 2025. The typical stories and achievements shared are vivid evidence of the spirit of dedication, responsibility, and resilient fighting for a peaceful life and for the happiness of the people; contributing to spreading the beautiful image of the People's Public Security soldier in the hearts of the people.
Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau, on behalf of the city's leaders, acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements and feats of the City Police force, and congratulated the typical advanced collectives and individuals who were honored.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the City Police to continue to thoroughly grasp President Ho Chi Minh's patriotic emulation ideology, the Party's policies, and the State's laws and policies on emulation and commendation, especially the Law on Emulation and Commendation in 2022. Thereby, creating a clear change in the awareness and actions of Party committees, Party organizations and all officers and soldiers of the City Police about the position, role and significance of emulation work - considering emulation as a responsibility, a regular task, and an intrinsic need of each collective and individual.
He emphasized the need to build a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern Hai Phong Police force to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation. Accordingly, the City Police need to continue to strongly innovate the content and form of emulation movements in a practical and effective manner, closely following the political tasks and work requirements at each time.
At the Conference, the Organizing Committee awarded Certificates of Merit from the Director of the City Police to 80 typical and advanced collectives and individuals in the Emulation Movement "For National Security" for the period 2020 - 2025; commended 20 typical collectives and individuals in the Movement for the whole people to protect national security in the city, period 2020 - 2025.
Also at the Conference, the leaders of the City Police officially launched the Emulation Movement "For National Security" in 2025 in the entire force with 6 specific emulation contents and measures, associated with the motto of action: "Promoting the heroic tradition, the entire Hai Phong City Police force takes the lead as an exemplary model, renewing thinking, creativity, and action, for the peace of the city, for the happiness of the people."
The City Police Director called on all officers and soldiers to continue to promote the glorious tradition of the People's Police force, strengthen solidarity, and be determined to compete for achievements, excellently complete the task of protecting security and order, and actively contribute to the sustainable development of the city. The entire City Police force strives to work with all their might, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the People, and joining hands to realize the goal of building Hai Phong into a typical city of Asia as expected by General Secretary To Lam./.
