Provincial police deploy work to prevent and combat storm circulation No. 3 (storm Wipha)

Faced with the complicated and dangerous developments of storm No. 3 (Wipha), on the afternoon of July 21, Major General Cao Minh Huyen, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Director of Lao Cai Provincial Police, chaired a conference to assess the situation and direct the implementation of work to prevent and combat the circulation of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha).

At the conference, after hearing the report on the situation of storm No. 3, as well as some of the damage caused by tornadoes in the province in recent days, Major General Cao Minh Huyen highly appreciated the spirit of constant presence and readiness to support the people of the forces, especially the police of communes, wards and police stations.

However, in the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha), which is forecast to cause widespread heavy rain, flash floods and landslides in the northern mountainous provinces, including Lao Cai , the Director of the Provincial Police Department requested the leaders of the police units and localities to organize 100% of their personnel on duty from the afternoon of July 21; closely monitor the developments of storm Wipha to proactively deploy measures to ensure absolute safety for offices, archives, weapons, equipment, and detention camps; advise the People's Committees at the commune level and coordinate with functional forces at the grassroots level to organize inspections and reviews of key areas of natural disasters (especially areas at risk of landslides, flooding, and isolation), organize propaganda, mobilize forces, means, and support the evacuation of people and property to safe shelters, minimizing damage.

Professional units (Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department; Traffic Police Department; Mobile Police Department) proactively develop their own plans, assign forces and means to respond to storm circulation; Department-level units under the provincial police and commune-level police set up shock teams to be ready to participate in rescue, help people overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Immediately after the urgent meeting chaired by the Director, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Tuan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, directly directed the Yen Bai Ward Police to coordinate with the Yen Bai Ward Military Command to survey the actual landslide risk areas, propagate and mobilize people to raise vigilance, and evacuate people and property to safe places (photo below).
