Ho Chi Minh City Police recruit foreign soldiers to participate in the World Volleyball Championship

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club continues to surprise in the transfer market. After announcing the blockbuster contract with Polish superstar Michal Kubiak, the team named after Uncle Ho officially recruited Martin Licek (foreign player from the Czech Republic) to strengthen their journey to conquer round 2 of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship.

Martin Licek, born in 1995, is 1m97 tall, has a 3m33 blocking range and a 3m45 jump. He played for many domestic clubs before moving to Portugal to try his hand, and is now at Ho Chi Minh City Police. This striker is known for his good attacking and blocking abilities thanks to his height advantage.

Martin Licek recently competed at the FIVB World Championship 2025, where he and his teammates surprised everyone by making it to the top 4. In the third-place match against Poland, Martin Licek left an impression with 7 points scored.

Right after the tournament ended in the Philippines, the 30-year-old striker flew to Vietnam to join the Ho Chi Minh City Police. He had about 2 weeks to prepare with his new teammates before entering the second phase of the national championship.

In addition to possessing the experienced superstar Michal Kubiak, Ho Chi Minh City Police also has a backup plan named Martin Licek. In difficult times when needing to cut down points, the Czech Republic striker can solve this problem.

After the first stage of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship, Ho Chi Minh City Police and Border Guard are the two teams that have won all 5 matches. They will meet in the final match of the group stage to decide which team will win the number 1 position. This is a very important match because the winning team will avoid a strong opponent in the semi-finals, most likely The Cong Tan Cang.

Phase 2 of the 2025 National Volleyball Championship will take place from October 7 to 16 in Ninh Binh. The second phase still includes 8 men's teams: MB Border Guard, Tan Cang The Cong, Ho Chi Minh City Police, Da Nang, Tay Ninh, Hanoi, Sanest Khanh Hoa and LPBank Ninh Binh.

The 8 women's teams that will compete include: VTV Binh Dien Long An , Duc Giang Chemicals, Information Corps, Ho Chi Minh City, Hung Yen, Long Son Thanh Hoa Cement, VietinBank and LPBank Ninh Binh.
