The Vietnam Physics Society decided to take November 6 every year as the annual industry day to promote research, training, application and dissemination of knowledge about Physics.
On November 6, the Vietnam Physics Association in collaboration with Hanoi Pedagogical University, University of Natural Sciences and University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City Physics Association organized the first Vietnam Physics Day.
Professor Nguyen Dai Hung, President of the Vietnam Physics Association, said that this day is organized to encourage and promote the development of research, training - teaching, application, enhance cooperation and disseminate knowledge in the community.
"This is a way to increase the interest, passion and love of students and the public for Physics," said Mr. Hung.
Professor Nguyen Van Minh, Principal of Hanoi National University of Education, shared that the establishment of Vietnam Physics Day is like "certifying the birth", marking a new development stage of Physics to contribute to the construction and development of the country together with other sciences.

In the first year of organizing Vietnam Physics Day, the Vietnam Physics Association awarded the "Promising Young Physicist" prize to Dr. Cao Hoang Nam, 38 years old, lecturer at Phenikaa University, for his work "The role of anti-de Sitter space (AdS) in researching the color superconducting phase and constructing the four-dimensional de Sitter vacuum (dS)".
This award is given every two years, starting from 2021, to a physicist under 40 years old, with outstanding achievements in basic research, technology development and application, training and teaching of Physics. Mr. Nam has many research achievements, is the author of 30 articles published in prestigious international journals.
Also on Vietnam Physics Day, physics experts and researchers gave a number of public lectures. Professor Le Van Hoang, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, shared about the "Nobel Prize in Physics 2023"; Professor Nguyen Van Minh, Principal of Hanoi University of Education, gave a talk on "Physics and Art"; Associate Professor Pham Hong Duong shared the topic "Two worlds, one reality".
Thanh Tung, a student of the Physics Department at Hanoi National University of Education, shared that his love for the subject was further nurtured through these public lectures, even though there were parts of the knowledge he did not know.
"The teachers are very interesting, even humorous, helping us to comfortably receive and learn more information and knowledge to explore and expand later," Tung said, wishing there would be more similar events for students to learn from.
