Previously, specifically from November 16-17, prolonged heavy rain in the area caused serious landslides, causing the house at 74 Hung Vuong Street to break and collapse, and affecting more than 10 neighboring households. The landslide area was about 170m long, the slope was 15m deep, 30m wide, with a total area of over 5,000m² and is currently showing signs of expanding.
Faced with the risk of insecurity, the People's Committee of Khe Sanh commune urgently evacuated 10 households with 45 people out of the dangerous area.
To ensure safety of life and minimize damage, Quang Tri province requires focusing on implementing emergency response measures: closely monitoring weather developments and landslides; proactively warning, isolating dangerous areas, placing warning signs, deploying guards, and controlling people and vehicles passing by.

The authorities are assigned to regularly inspect the scene; when necessary, they must develop plans and organize forced relocation of households in accordance with regulations. The province also directed to continue to review and urgently relocate households in high-risk areas.
At the same time, localities must urgently review surplus headquarters and public works to arrange temporary residence; ensure adequate food, water, necessities, medical and hygiene conditions for people. Military , police, medical and related units are mobilized with means and materials to respond and rescue when situations arise.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned Khe Sanh commune and related departments and branches such as Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Provincial Police... to coordinate closely to monitor the landslide situation; quickly survey the safety level and viability of housing projects in the area.
This will be the basis for implementing protection projects, preventing landslides or making emergency evacuation plans, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property and stabilizing their lives in the long term.
