In recent days, many users on social media groups have shared and called for a boycott of the social networking application Snapchat because it displays a map containing the illegal "cow tongue line", seriously violating Vietnam's sovereignty on cyberspace.
According to many users, the “cow tongue line” appeared in the satellite map feature on the Snapchat app. This illegal map appeared since the social network updated it in late October and early November.
According to Tuoi Tre Online, many Facebook users in Vietnam expressed their outrage and shared articles calling for a boycott of Snapchat for not respecting Vietnam's sovereignty in cyberspace.
The above information has been recorded by the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, Ministry of Information and Communications , and is looking for ways to handle serious violations of this application.
Snapchat is an American social networking application, currently having nearly 400 million users worldwide. However, the number of users in Vietnam is not much. Snapchat users in Vietnam mainly use it for work with foreign partners.
