NVIDIA invests in nuclear power for AI
According to Investor , TerraPower – a nuclear startup co-founded by billionaire Bill Gates – raised $650 million from NVentures, a venture capital fund of NVIDIA. The company aims to deploy nuclear energy to power data centers – a field that is attracting strong investment due to the growing demand from artificial intelligence (AI).
“As AI continues to reshape industries, nuclear energy will become an essential source of power to power these elements,” said Mohamed Siddeek, head of NVentures.

Nvidia's investment highlights the increasingly close relationship between the tech industry, which needs clean, reliable power for data centers and AI, and nuclear energy companies working on new reactor designs.
Last week, NVIDIA made several moves to expand its AI technology hubs in Europe at its regional developer conference. It also announced a partnership with Deutsche Telekom (Germany) to build the first industrial AI cloud platform for European manufacturers.
In the UK, NVIDIA has signed more deals as the government ramps up investment in national AI capabilities. Since May, the AI chip giant has also stepped up its partnership with the Saudi Arabian government to develop AI infrastructure.
China's Aging Population Changes How Seafood Is Consumed Online
The Hangzhou-based company, which operates online and offline retail in China including Fresh Hippo, T-Mall and Taobao, said middle-aged and older consumers will drive faster growth in online seafood purchases than younger generations by 2024.
Alibaba data shows that consumers aged 30 to 49 remain the dominant online spenders, accounting for more than 60% of sales. But the proportion of consumers aged 50 and over has now surpassed those under 29, indicating a growing interest in online shopping among older age groups.

Frozen shrimp has emerged as the backbone of China's online seafood market, leading sales with sea cucumbers and hairy crabs as the top three items by volume.
Seafood e-commerce is expected to grow strongly by 2024, with 380 million consumers purchasing food through Alibaba’s Taobao and Tmall platforms. More than 2,000 seafood merchants will achieve annual sales exceeding 10 million yuan ($1.39 million), while 190,000 new online seafood merchants will enter the market.
However, Zuo said most farmers and aquaculture fishermen still lack the skills to operate online sales.
Rabobank analysis shows that by 2050, China’s median age will rise from 40 to 52, with more than 500 million citizens aged 60 or older. The aging population, increasingly concerned about health issues such as cholesterol, is turning to seafood as a healthier protein alternative.
