On this occasion, the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee presented workers with 110 Tet gifts, each worth 1.3 million VND.

Many workers were moved to receive the attention, sharing and encouragement of Party and State leaders during the time before Tet.

As the youngest child in a family in Nam Giang district ( Quang Nam ), Lo Loong Tuyen (22 years old, a worker in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park) chose to stay in Da Nang to work extra instead of returning home for Tet.

Tuyen said that this was her first Tet away from home. Although she missed home very much, she had to take care of her old father in the countryside, so she had to "put Tet on hold" to work as a noodle shop assistant to earn extra income. On February 15 (the 6th day of the lunar calendar), Tuyen returned to work at the company.

Working in Da Nang since May 2023, this year, Ms. Tuyet Bang (from Soc Trang ) will spend another Tet away from home because the cost of returning home is too high. Ms. Bang and her husband have a salary of more than 10 million VND/month, the couple saves up to take care of their 2 children's education.

Ms. Bang confided that to return to her hometown, the most economical cost would be more than 20 million VND. "Just the bus fare back and forth costs 6 million VND, not including the cost of clothes, children, family, etc., so it is very difficult to return to her hometown," Ms. Bang said.

This year, Ms. Bang works as a maid, while her husband works as a gas station attendant to earn extra income because the salary is higher than usual.
