Recently, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported that Vostok Intur, a travel company based in Vladivostok (Russia), has started promoting tours to North Korea's new beach resort, marking the resumption of welcoming international visitors after a temporary hiatus.

According to information on Vostok Intur's website on August 9, the company will organize a package tour to the Kalma resort in Wonsan city from August 25 to September 1. The first day's schedule includes traveling by bus from Vladivostok to Khasan station (Russia), continuing by train through Tumen river station to enter North Korea, and then to the resort.

Kalma coastal resort is large in scale, with water parks, high-rise hotels and accommodation systems capable of serving nearly 20,000 guests, and is considered one of the modern tourist complexes in this country.

According to Vostok Intur, the upcoming seven-night, eight-day package includes four-star hotel accommodation, all meals, and a Russian-speaking guide, with a total approximate cost for a group of three to five people of approximately $1,500 per person; larger groups receive discounts. The company describes it as a unique opportunity to experience North Korean culture and history, largely untouched by Western influence.

The Kalma coastal resort is expected to attract international tourists to North Korea. The resumption of international tours here shows that the country continues to seek revenue from tourism, targeting nearby markets, including Russia.
