At around 9:00 a.m. on July 22, while carrying out the task of propagating and mobilizing watercraft to enter the area to avoid storm Wipha, the working group of Waterway Division 1, Traffic Police Department discovered that fishing boat numbered QNg 92614-TS, controlled by captain Tran Thanh Phap (born in 1983, residing in An Phu commune, Quang Ngai province), was overturned by a tornado and sank on the Chanh River (Quang Yen ward, Quang Ninh province).
At the time of discovery, there were 9 people on board. Immediately, the task force mobilized the Grip ship with 8 officers and soldiers to urgently approach the scene, promptly supporting the entire crew to safely reach shore, and at the same time organizing the rescue of drifting property.

The brave, professional and responsible actions of the 1st Marine Division contributed to protecting the lives and property of fishermen in dangerous weather conditions caused by the storm.
Faced with the unpredictable developments of Typhoon Wipha, the Traffic Police Department recommends that people do not attempt to enter flooded roads or deep water; comply with the orders of the Traffic Police and regulatory forces, monitor weather information and traffic warnings via radio, newspapers, and official social networks to have appropriate routes when participating in traffic.
