The most impressive result of the Vietnamese weightlifting team during the tour in Jiangshan - China belonged to Tran Minh Tri in the men's 67 kg category. This young weightlifter from An Giang surprised experts and opponents when he won the gold medal with a total lift of 318 kg. This is Tran Minh Tri's best result in the international arena after he won the gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games with a total lift of 306 kg.

This result is really positive because Tran Minh Tri only ranked second in the snatch (146 kg) and third in the clean and jerk (172 kg). The total result of 318 kg was enough for him to "overtake" the heavyweight candidate Zheng Xin-hao (China - 147 kg, 170 kg, 317 kg) and the extremely strong opponent Bae Moon-su (Korea - 132 kg, 174 kg, 306 kg).

Tran Minh Tri (1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal), Lai Gia Thanh (1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal), Pham Dinh Thi (3 bronze medals), Quang Thi Tam (1 bronze medal) helped the Vietnamese weightlifting team rank 8th overall, above many strong opponents such as the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Taiwan - China...

Vietnamese weightlifters will attend the World Championships in October in Norway and are actively preparing for the 33rd SEA Games in December 2025 in Thailand.
