Civil Aviation Authority requests to strengthen supervision of Long Thanh airport construction

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has just sent a document to the Southern Airport Authority regarding strengthening monitoring and supervision of the construction process of items of the Long Thanh International Airport (HKQT) Phase 1 investment and construction project.

Specifically, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam requires the Southern Airports Authority to closely coordinate with investors of component projects to ensure that construction items are constructed in compliance with planning documents, construction designs, and land allocation and lease documents approved by competent authorities.

The Port Authority is also required to closely coordinate, support and guide investors of component projects in the process of implementing procedures for connection and use of infrastructure for construction within the scope of authority and legal regulations.

At the same time, handle in accordance with regulations and authority any issues arising during the project implementation of investors, and report to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam any issues arising beyond authority for consideration and coordination in handling.

Long Thanh International Airport project is divided into 4 components.

Component project 1 includes state management agency headquarters works assigned to customs, local police, border police, port authorities, and health quarantine to arrange funding for implementation.

Component project 2 includes works serving air traffic management assigned to Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation as the investor.

Component project 3 includes essential works in the port, including passenger terminal, cargo terminal No. 1, parking lot, and connecting traffic invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - ACV.

Component project 4 includes other works such as aircraft cleaning treatment area, vehicle maintenance, and catering service, with the Ministry of Transport selecting the investor.
