Implementing Official Dispatch No. 6815/CD-BCT dated September 8, 2024 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the direction of the General Department of Market Management in Document No. 2586/TCQLTT-CNV on strengthening market inspection and supervision in the aftermath of storm No. 3, in addition to overcoming the consequences caused by the storm, the Provincial Market Management Department has directed the Market Management teams to simultaneously launch propaganda, inspection, supervision and handling of violations, maintaining market stability in the area.
Accordingly, the provincial Market Management Department has directed market management teams in the province to focus on propaganda, inspection and supervision of business activities at a number of supermarkets, traditional markets, food and essential goods businesses serving people's consumption needs and a number of businesses selling household electrical appliances, construction materials, roofing sheets, aluminum, square pipes, composite iron and steel...
The provincial Market Management Department also requires each unit to arrange at least one working group on duty 24/7 to directly handle arising issues and proactively coordinate with relevant sectors and functional forces to inspect and strictly handle violations related to prices, commodity speculation, creating commodity shortages to raise prices, and illegal profiteering; resolutely not allowing the situation of taking advantage of difficult situations to cause market instability.

Following the direction of the superiors, on September 9, Market Management Team No. 8 (managing the areas of Tien Yen, Binh Lieu, and Ba Che districts) sent working groups to inspect many business establishments in the area. In particular, they focused on inspecting businesses selling gasoline, generators, construction materials to help overcome the consequences of the storm, and businesses selling essential goods to serve people's daily life. Through the inspection, the team promptly detected and handled a number of violations related to speculation and unreasonable price increases.
In Ha Long City, Market Management Team No. 5 also proactively monitored the situation, collected, examined and verified information related to the trading of goods, especially essential goods. Notably, on September 10, Market Management Team No. 5 coordinated with Ha Long City Police to inspect and handle Chung Huyen electronics business (Bach Dang Ward, Ha Long City) for not posting prices of goods and trading imported goods (generators) without secondary labels, with a fine of 12 million VND.

These days, in parallel with the work of overcoming post-storm incidents and preventing floods due to post-storm circulation, the market management force in the province is also actively implementing many measures to strictly control business and trading activities, ensuring stable lives of the people. In particular, focusing on propaganda and mobilizing business establishments to sign a commitment to comply with the provisions of the law, not taking advantage of natural disasters, storms and floods to speculate, hoard goods, and unreasonably increase prices; goods for business must have clear origin, ensure quality, labels... in accordance with the provisions of the law. Thanks to that, up to now, the market situation in the province has been basically stable, serving the needs of the people well.
It is forecasted that in the coming days, the flood situation will continue to be complicated, many areas will still have local power shortages, and the need for house repairs will increase. Clearly identifying the local situation, the Provincial Market Management Department has directed the Market Management teams to continue to closely monitor the area to promptly inspect and strictly handle violations; resolutely prevent hoarding and price hikes, ensure price stability, supply and demand of goods, especially food, foodstuffs, gasoline, essential goods and items for construction repair... Thereby, continuing to ensure market stability throughout the post-storm period and the last months of 2024.
