Strengthening the Party's ideological position in the Army

On the afternoon of October 1, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army held a September 2024 meeting to deploy key tasks for October 2024. Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army chaired the meeting.

Proactively and effectively carry out politicaleducation and ideological leadership; information, propaganda, and ideological and public opinion orientation on complex and sensitive issues. Synchronously and on schedule deploy activities to prepare for the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; and the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Politics. Proactively develop draft documents for the 12th Party Congress of the Army. Complete the dossier to report to the Government and submit to the National Assembly the draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army according to regulations. Effectively carry out the work of ensuring security, safety, mass mobilization, policies, social insurance, health insurance, activities of mass organizations and Party work, political work in the tasks. Timely direct agencies and units to proactively and effectively carry out Party work and political work in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods; promptly encourage and arouse the spirit of solidarity, mutual love, determination to overcome difficulties, and selflessly sacrifice for the people of cadres and soldiers in performing their tasks, with the spirit of ensuring the safety of people's lives above all; the army has proactively come to the people, highlighting the good qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" trusted, recognized and highly appreciated by the Party, State and people.

Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet requested agencies and units to promote initiative and creativity, resolutely overcome limitations and shortcomings, effectively carry out Party and political work in tasks, focusing on combat readiness, training, building discipline, managing discipline; local military and defense work; preventing, combating and overcoming consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue; competitions, sports festivals and drills according to plan.

Continue to carefully review activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, and the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Politics. Do a good job of advising and developing guidelines for implementing the Directive of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee on Party Congresses at all levels in the Army Party Committee; advise on organizing conferences to disseminate and deploy leadership documents, directions, and guidelines for Party Congresses at all levels in the Army Party Committee; develop a draft Resolution of the Central Military Commission to lead the implementation of military and defense tasks and build the Army Party Committee in 2025.

Prepare relevant content and documents to serve the head of the Ministry of National Defense and National Assembly deputies in the Army attending the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly to consider and pass the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army. Well implement the work of protecting internal politics, protecting secrets, security and safety. Effectively carry out security protection work in the fields of culture, ideology, economy, foreign defense; coordinate to ensure absolute security and safety for the activities of the leaders of the Party, State and Army. Well implement the work of mass mobilization, policies, social insurance, health insurance; proactively participate in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, epidemics, rescue and relief; continue to direct and guide units to fully and promptly resolve policies and regimes for the subjects; propose support for families of soldiers, workers and defense officials, and laborers in the Army affected by storms and floods.
