Businesses are exploring digital transformation solutions to implement within their organizations.

Proactive businesses

Recently, the "Enterprise 4.0 Management Solution at HueWACO" of Thua Thien Hue Water Supply Joint Stock Company (HueWACO) was honored with the "TOP Enterprise with Smart Digital Products and Industry 4.0 Technology Solutions" award at the 3rd "Vietnam Industry 4.0 Top Awards – I4 Awards" ceremony in 2024, organized by the Institute for Innovation and Digital Transformation in collaboration with the Vietnam Automation Association.

The "HueWACO Enterprise 4.0 Management Solution" is built on the digitalization of all management and operational processes at HueWACO, fully integrating features such as document management, monitoring and reporting of production and business plans, as well as customer management and water supply system management. This optimizes information in a centralized manner and facilitates easy sharing between information systems. The award affirms HueWACO's continuous efforts in promoting the application of information technology (IT) and digital transformation, thereby improving the efficiency of production and business operations, in line with the goal of building a smart city in Thua Thien Hue.

Mr. Duong Quy Duong, General Director of HueWACO, stated: “Digital transformation impacts our management and operations, helping the business develop rapidly and sustainably.” HueWACO has aggressively implemented digitalization in all processes, from water production, treatment, and distribution to customer service. “Automation and the application of IT in production and business activities have brought about significant improvements, optimizing our entire operational process on a digital platform,” Mr. Duong emphasized.

Not only HueWACO, but many small businesses like Doan Trang Embroidery and Garment Trading & Service Company Limited are also actively undergoing digital transformation. With support from the Thua Thien Hue Information Technology Center, the company has successfully digitized its operations and daily data recording, while also connecting to e-commerce platforms. Ms. Nguyen Thi Doan Trang, Director of the company, shared: “The digital transformation solution not only expands our product promotion and sales channels but also helps us manage more conveniently and efficiently.”

Accompanying and supporting

According to Mr. Duong Tuan Anh, Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, the province currently has over 6,000 operating businesses. Many businesses have proactively approached e-commerce platforms and used digital transformation platforms to increase revenue. The majority of businesses have applied software and solutions to online sales management, marketing, and customer relationship management. The emergence of e-commerce platforms such as TikTok, Sendo, Tiki, Lazada, and Shopee... has created many opportunities for businesses.

However, not all businesses succeed in the digital transformation process. Mr. Duong Tuan Anh noted that many businesses still haven't clearly defined the position and value of digital transformation, leading to insufficient preparation of necessary resources. "Many businesses intend to implement digital transformation but encounter difficulties in implementation, resulting in low effectiveness," Mr. Duong Tuan Anh said.

In supporting businesses in their digital transformation, the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments have implemented many practical solutions to assist enterprises. From the beginning of 2023 to the present, the province has provided digital signatures and electronic invoices to hundreds of businesses, with a total budget of over 1 billion VND. At the same time, dozens of businesses that converted from household businesses have also received support for accounting costs. In addition, the province has organized specialized training courses on e-commerce, equipping participants with necessary skills such as online sales and the use of ChatGPT, attracting hundreds of businesses to participate.

The Provincial People's Committee also issued a plan to support digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises, business households, and cooperatives until 2025. This plan focuses on training to enhance digital transformation capacity, providing technological solutions, and assessing the digital transformation capabilities of these business groups.

The proactive approach of businesses and support from the government will create a bright picture for the digital economy in Thua Thien Hue. In this context, businesses not only need to seize opportunities but also be ready to innovate and create to assert their position in a highly competitive market.

The digital economy is not only the future but also the present, and its success depends on the continuous efforts of each business along with the support of the government.
