From 5am, a long line of people poured into the center of Hac Thanh ward (Thanh Hoa province). Thousands of delegates, officers, soldiers of the armed forces, civil servants, union members, students, sports clubs and a large number of people from Hac Thanh, Dong Son, Quang Phu, Ham Rong, Nguyet Vien wards... joined the walk.
The footsteps harmonized with the bustling drum beats and the bright red of the national flag fluttering, creating an atmosphere that was both exciting and solemn.
In the sacred moment, when the red flag with yellow star slowly fluttered in the sky of Thanh Hoa, young Nguyen Thi Huyen emotionally shared: "Putting my hand on my left chest, facing the national flag and singing the song Tien Quan Ca, I feel more deeply the sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers in the fight for independence.
It is also a reminder for today's generation to be more responsible in studying, working and contributing to building a strong country."
Thanh Hoa is known as a locality with a strong and comprehensive sports movement. Currently, 44.8% of the population regularly practices sports, nearly 31% of households have achieved the title of "sports family", 100% of the armed forces have achieved the title of "healthy soldiers", 100% of schools implement physical education activities well.
Also from this movement, Thanh Hoa has discovered and trained many excellent athletes, achieved high achievements in domestic and international arenas, and continuously ranked in the top of the country in high-performance sports.
In Thanh Hoa alone, the program "Moving Forward with Vietnam" attracted nearly 32,000 participants, from the central urban area to wards and communes, responding to the goal of "1 billion steps into the new era".
According to Deputy Director of Thanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Duy Tu, the event not only promotes the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" but also is a message to encourage patriotism, national pride, contributing to spreading a green lifestyle, building walking habits, reducing carbon emissions, towards the goal of "Strong people - Prosperous country".
The highlight of “Moving Forward with Vietnam” is the convergence and harmony of generations and classes of people from urban to rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas.
It is not just a simple sports activity, but also a strong commitment of more than 4 million Thanh Hoa people to accompany the whole country in the journey of reducing carbon emissions, achieving the national Net Zero goal.
Along with the walking event, Thanh Hoa Police also widely organized the "National Day for National Security Protection", many cultural and artistic activities, propaganda on drug prevention and control, ensuring traffic safety, and maintaining social order.
This is an occasion to honor the glorious tradition of 80 years of building and growing of the People's Public Security force, and at the same time further strengthen the bond between the people and the armed forces.
Notably, the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam system in Thanh Hoa also launched the program "Step forward with me" to raise funds to protect Vietnamese children, expanding the humanistic value of the event from physical to spiritual, from today's community to future generations.
“Moving forward with Vietnam” in Thanh Hoa has become a day of solidarity, a place to awaken the aspirations of a nation to rise up. Tens of thousands of footsteps not only join in the atmosphere of historical commemoration, but also the beat of faith, will and spirit of moving forward for a powerful future, a strong Vietnam, ready to enter a new era.
