(Dan Tri) - Survey results show that the two US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are in a stalemate in all 7 battleground states before election day.

The survey, conducted among 4,200 registered voters and published by the Wall Street Journal on October 11, showed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris with a narrow lead over Republican Donald Trump in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin, while Trump held a small advantage in Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. However, the Journal noted that no gap was larger than 2 percentage points between the two candidates, except in Nevada, where Trump led by 5 percentage points. The survey found that in all seven battleground states, Trump led Harris 46% to 45%. About 93% of Republicans supported Trump, while 93% of Democrats backed Harris, while independents backed Harris by a narrow margin of 40% to 39% for Trump. “This is a close race and it’s going to come down to the wire. These last three weeks are critical,” Republican pollster David Lee, who worked on the survey, told the Wall Street Journal . “There really couldn’t be a closer race. This is a close, close race,” said Democratic pollster Michael Bocian. A series of recent polls have shown Trump and Harris within single digits in battleground states, with Trump leading in all but Wisconsin, according to an average compiled by RealClearPolitics . Voters surveyed by the Journal ranked the economy and immigration as their top two issues. They favored Trump over Harris on the economy by 10 points, and immigration and border security by 16 points. Harris, however, led Trump on abortion by 16 points. At this point in the 2020 campaign, President Joe Biden leads Trump by 5 points in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Trump won all three of these battleground states in 2016, but lost to Biden in 2020. Winning all three could secure the presidency for either Trump or Harris this year. Trump and Harris took part in their first presidential debate on September 10. Trump has said there will be no other debates before the November 5 election. Early polls from Reuters , YouGov and CNN show that a majority of voters think Vice President Kamala Harris outperformed former President Donald Trump in the debate. Most commentators and observers agree that Harris prevailed in the contest, putting Trump on the defensive.
