Once considered one of the outstanding beauties of Vietnamese showbiz, runner-up Huyen My now chooses a quiet, gentle and discreet life. Few people know that she is the only Vietnamese representative in the top 100 nominees for the most beautiful faces in the world voted by TC Candler in 2020, alongside Jisoo and Lisa of BlackPink.

Born in 1995 in Hanoi, Huyen My was crowned 1st runner-up at the Miss Vietnam 2014 pageant when she was only 19 years old. 3 years later, she represented the host country at the Miss Grand International 2017 pageant and entered the top 10 finalists. After the spotlight from beauty pageants, Huyen My became a sought-after name in the Vietnamese entertainment industry with an elegant, well-groomed image and always maintained the public's sympathy.
However, in recent years, audiences have hardly seen her regularly appearing in events or entertainment activities. Huyen My has temporarily put aside her artistic work, switched to the role of sports editor, and focused on personal projects.
"I have limited my showbiz activities for the past 2-3 years. There are many negative rumors that Huyen My is no longer in fashion and no one invites her anymore. I think I don't need to correct it because there are still invitations, what's important is my choice. Everyone is the same, each time will have a change of mind. Now I realize that I have been a bit heartless to those who truly love me. This is the time I need to live differently," Huyen My said.

For her, family is always the top priority. Every day, Huyen My tries to come home for dinner with her parents, limits hanging out with friends and spends more time at home. She said the older she gets, the more she understands how precious these seemingly small things are.
One of Huyen My's special passions is sports, especially golf. She started playing this sport in 2020, spending so much time on the field that she once admitted that she "was exposed to the sun and rain until she was dark". However, behind her love for sports, she encountered many obstacles: "My appearance was affected, my skin became darker, so when I went to events or met people, I was teased, although it was fun, it also made me feel hurt".
After some time of thinking, Huyen My decided to stop playing golf and temporarily put aside all other heavy sports. "I used to love it too much and practice too much. Now I think everything should be just enough. Practice to be healthy but don't have to push yourself too hard," she shared. That decision is part of an overall change: living more lightly, not competing, not racing, not appearing too much to maintain inner balance.
Despite retiring from the stage, Huyen My still follows showbiz. She chooses to appear selectively, both to maintain her image and to ensure her private life. "I still work, still earn a living, but I don't need to make a fuss. As long as I have enough to live on, I live happily," the beauty said.

At the age of 30 - a milestone that can easily make women feel a lot of pressure, especially when it comes to getting married, Huyen My is not afraid to share her personal opinion: "Love is hard to talk about, maybe I want to get married right away but I can't do it right away. When I was under 20, I wanted to have a baby as soon as possible to be closer to my children, but now it's different. I don't want to get married just because of age pressure or because others are rushing me."
For her, marriage requires not only love but also harmony and compatibility in all aspects: "My point of view is slow and steady, because I see 9 out of 10 close friends who have divorced. I think I should have enough experience first, just go out and explore until I am truly ready and meet someone who can accompany me all the way, making me want to wholeheartedly take care of my family, then I will stop. However, maybe I am not destined enough to meet that person."
It is these clear and uncomplicated criteria that make Huyen My's love life still show no signs of "closing down" her lover. She smiled and said: "Maybe I'm not lucky enough to meet that person. My man is probably still somewhere, not finished experiencing youth. Let's just live our youth to the fullest."
Talking about having children, the runner-up also has a realistic view. She believes that women should give birth at the right age because it is scientific but not hasty if they do not have enough conditions. "I want my baby to have both a father and a mother. I was lucky to grow up in a happy family, so I hope my child will be the same. Parents working together will help children have a more complete view of the world."
Nearly a decade after winning the title of Miss Vietnam 1st Runner-up, Huyen My is living exactly what she wants: a life that doesn't need to be glamorous or noisy but full and peaceful.
