The contest was launched to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The contest aims to widely propagate to all classes of people, especially the young generation, the significance, stature, and great historical value of the August Revolution and the resistance war against the US to save the country; about the great achievements of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular after 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
Thereby, contributing to encouraging and motivating cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to compete to achieve achievements in celebrating the great national holiday and the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Party Congress. At the same time, stepping up the fight against false information and viewpoints, distorting and denying the great victories of the nation in the history of national construction and defense.
The contest content includes: Vietnamese history from 1945 to present, focusing on the process of building, protecting and developing the country under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Key historical events in the struggle for independence and national unification, especially the developments, results, significance, and lessons learned from the Resistance War against French Colonialism and the Resistance War against American Imperialism to save the country; Achievements in various fields after 80 years of the country's founding and nearly 40 years of implementing the Doi Moi process; the Party and State's guidelines and policies on building and developing Ho Chi Minh City in the new period; Major orientations in the leadership and direction of the Party and General Secretary To Lam to bring the country into a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
The competition takes place from March 2025 to August 2025, divided into 2 phases: - Phase 1: Organize the online contest "Proud of Vietnam" in the form of a multiple-choice test on the Reporter Information Website (baocaovien.vn), Vietnam Youth Mobile Application in March 2025 with 3 weeks of competition. The closing and award ceremony of the first round of the competition is expected to take place in mid-April 2025. At the end of each competition week, the Organizing Committee will announce the results of the winning individuals on the Reporter's General Information Website. The prize structure includes: - 1 First Prize, worth 10,000,000 VND, - 2 Second prizes, each worth 5,000,000 VND, - 3 Third prizes, each worth 3,000,000 VND, - 5 Consolation prizes, each worth 1,000,000 VND, - 5 prizes for candidates with the highest scores on the Vietnam Youth Mobile App, each prize worth 1,000,000 VND. At the end of Phase 1 , the Organizing Committee selected 10 collectives, which are localities, agencies, and units with excellent achievements and many contestants participating in the Contest, to award prizes. Each prize is worth 10,000,000 VND. - Phase 2: The contest is held on the Reporter General Information Website, Vietnam Youth Mobile Application and newspapers, magazines, and electronic information sites with links. The contest is from May to August 2025, according to the separate plan of the Central Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. It is expected that Round 2 will be divided into stages: Individual Weekly Round; Provincial Team Round; Semi-final Round; Final Round.
