The book's layout follows the architectural characteristics of each period, from the ancient Thang Long - Hanoi architecture to the French colonial period with styles such as Beaux-Arts, Art Deco, Indochina. The work also expands to steel structures, Gothic Renaissance and ends with Hanoi architecture after 1954. Here, readers will witness images of both familiar and strange structures, especially places that are very difficult to access such as the Office of the President, the Government Guest House , the Supreme People's Court, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, etc. In particular, the way people interact with the structures is also recreated in many forms, from photos to paintings.
The work was released in bilingual Vietnamese - French, published by Phanbook and The Gioi Publishing House. PHOTO: Publishing House
Mr. Nguyen Chanh Phuong - representative of AA Corporation, the project initiator - said that the target audience of the book is young people, then architects and those interested in heritage. Therefore, the writing style, design, presentation, layout... are all unified in a close and fresh direction. From here, it is hoped that young people will have a new perspective as well as be more interested in heritage.
