Many war veterans have become shining examples for everyone to follow. A typical example is war veteran Lu Thanh Hung (residing in Can Thoi hamlet, Can Dang commune). Born and raised in a homeland rich in revolutionary traditions, in 1984, when he was just 18 years old, young Lu Thanh Hung participated in the war to protect the southwestern border of the Fatherland, helping Cambodia overthrow the genocidal regime. After nearly 4 years of fighting, he was injured and was discharged from the army and returned to his hometown. In recent years, despite his old age, with the fighting spirit of a soldier, he and the Commune War Veterans Association and the People's Committee of Can Thoi hamlet have propagated to members and people to properly implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws; actively participated in the patriotic emulation movement in the locality.

Veteran Vo Van Vu is always willing to support people in production and business.

The movement of helping each other escape poverty and strive to become rich legitimately has been carried out enthusiastically by members. The District Veterans Association has proactively exploited loans from the Social Policy Bank, supporting members in difficult circumstances to borrow to develop production and business, improve income and quality of life. Many cadres and members of the Veterans Association have shown their determination to improve their family life, with many good practices and production and business models that bring high economic efficiency.

With the will and determination of a soldier, Mr. Vo Van Vu (Trung Thanh hamlet, Vinh Thanh commune) constantly learns, improves his knowledge, finds new directions, and boldly applies scientific and technological advances to rice production and cultivation.
