Rescue of extremely rare golden pangolin in Hoa Binh

According to information from Hoa Binh Provincial Police, the Investigation Police Agency, Hoa Binh Provincial Police coordinated with the Traffic Police team of Yen Thuy district to arrest a subject transporting yellow pangolins.

The subject said he bought it from a resident in Ngoc Luong commune. He himself had raised and traded wild animals and was currently arrested and detained pending investigation and trial.

After the confiscation of the evidence, the yellow pangolin was taken to the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources in Hanoi for examination. On the same day, the Hoa Binh Provincial Police contacted SVW to hand it over and care for it. This is a male yellow pangolin, weighing about 6kg, with no serious injuries detected.

The yellow pangolin is a rare animal, currently the number of individuals in the wild is small. Because of its high value, people often catch pangolins to sell for money.
