Da Lat: Many typical examples in the Humanitarian Journey were rewarded, giving and receiving love

(LĐ online) - On the morning of May 27, the Da Lat City Red Cross Association held a conference to summarize the work of the Association and the School Red Cross Movement in the 2024-2025 school year and commended many collectives and individuals with outstanding contributions.

In the 2024-2025 school year, with the theme of Humanitarian Journey, Giving and Receiving Love, Red Cross Associations and Branches of schools in the city have actively participated in humanitarian and social activities, achieving results in all aspects. School Associations and Branches have coordinated and mobilized charitable units and individuals to award many scholarships to poor but excellent students, help many disadvantaged students, subsidize poor students and social activities with a total value of nearly 8.6 billion VND.

The Red Cross organization system in the school sector has 59 units under the Dalat Red Cross Association with a total of 2,492 members. The results of the emulation movement of Red Cross activities in the 2024-2025 school year have 59/59 units achieving excellent results.

In health care activities, the Red Cross of schools has equipped and managed the use of first aid kits in schools with common medicines and initial first aid equipment, promptly serving when there are accidents and illnesses during study and play. School medical staff have provided first aid to many cases of accidents and sudden illnesses in schools.

Public schools promote food safety and hygiene, health care knowledge, and care for common diseases; coordinate with ward health stations to organize annual health check-ups for students in schools. Mobilize the purchase of health insurance for students in difficult circumstances; mobilize members and parents to actively participate in blood donation.

Implementing the Humanitarian Month 2025 activities, the Da Lat City Red Cross Association coordinated with Tam Sai Gon Dental Clinic to organize free dental examinations and results for 2,229 students of Phan Chu Trinh and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Schools.

Social humanitarian work - mutual love is a key task that is actively implemented, with diverse forms of fundraising: Open letter to parents, businesses, philanthropists...

The Associations and School Branches participating in the Tet Charity program presented 3,202 gifts and 95 scholarships throughout the city, visited disadvantaged schools and social welfare facilities. The total value of the Tet Charity program for the Spring of At Ty 2025 in the school sector is nearly 2.7 billion VND.

In addition, the Red Cross Associations and Branches of schools mobilized more than 1.2 billion VND to support people in the North to overcome the consequences of storms and floods; donated more than 18 million VND to support the program "Safety for poor and disadvantaged fishermen".

Implementing well the Campaign "Each organization, each individual is associated with a humanitarian address", the associations at all levels maintain the campaign, sponsoring at least 1 address each year, with a total value of over 830 million VND in the whole city. Notably, Thang Long Specialized School helps 31 humanitarian addresses, worth over 145 million VND; Bach Dang Primary School helps 6 humanitarian addresses with nearly 63 million VND; Da Lat Red Cross maintains support for 14 humanitarian addresses selected from classes of several schools, providing regular monthly support for each child of 500 thousand VND, with the total support amount for the year being 84 million VND.

Some branches also cooperated with the Red Cross Associations of wards and communes to organize humanitarian activities: Giving Tet gifts, granting scholarships, supporting funding to build charity houses, providing emergency assistance... The Red Cross Association of Da Lat City alone has connected to award 125 scholarships to students in especially difficult circumstances of schools worth more than 600 million VND.

Many humanitarian models have been selected by units to be implemented in accordance with the characteristics of the school to foster and arouse compassion in the whole school and create humanitarian funds for the Association's activities such as: Love Week, Tet stalls, fundraising performances, opening gold books, sending open letters, placing humanitarian money boxes, raising charity piggy banks, setting up wardrobes...

Red Cross activities in schools always receive attention, direction and favorable conditions from the school, and support from charitable organizations and individuals. The staff in charge of school Red Cross activities are enthusiastic, dedicated, and responsible in their work, contributing to promoting the spirit of "mutual love" and "helping each other" in the school.

Lam Dong Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 outstanding groups

On this occasion, Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society awarded 7 collectives and 33 individuals; Da Lat City Red Cross Society awarded 16 collectives and 190 individuals with outstanding achievements in the School Red Cross Movement in the city in the 2024-2025 school year.

At the same time, in recognition of outstanding achievements in voluntary blood donation, the Central Red Cross Society awarded a Certificate of Merit to 1 individual; the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Lam Dong province awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 groups and 8 individuals.
