Da Nang welcomes Manila flight, expanding neighboring international tourist market

On July 1, Philippine Airlines flight PR585 landed at Da Nang airport with 193 passengers on the airline's first flight to the city.

The flight marks the official launch of Philippine Airlines' direct flight route connecting Manila - Da Nang from July 1 with a frequency of 3 flights/week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and is expected to increase to 4 flights/week from November 2025.

The route uses Airbus A321 aircraft with a total of 199 seats, including 12 business class seats.

At the international departure terminal, Philippine Airlines coordinated with Vietnam Airport Ground Services Joint Stock Company to welcome and present gifts to the first passengers on flight PR586 from Da Nang to Manila departing the same afternoon.

According to the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, Philippine Airlines' opening of the Da Nang route on the first day of Da Nang's official operation (July 1) is of great significance, affirming the policy of diversifying the ecosystem of tourism products and services along with expanding geographical space.

Tourism markets in neighboring countries are on the roadmap to expand and diversify the city's international tourist sources, with promotion and advertising programs.

Mr. Richard Nuttall, President of Philippine Airlines, also hopes that the Da Nang - Manila route will open up opportunities for Vietnamese tourists to experience the hospitality of the Philippines, along with a convenient flight network to other cities and resort islands in the Philippines, the US, Canada, Australia and Japan.

In 2024, the total number of visitors from the Philippines to Da Nang City will reach more than 65,000. In the first 5 months of 2025, the total number of visitors from the Philippines to Da Nang will reach more than 49,000, an increase of 2.26 times over the same period in 2024.
