Da Nang has the conditions to lead in AI
At the workshop, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, emphasized that AI is an inevitable trend, opening up great opportunities in digital transformation and socio -economic development. Da Nang possesses a strategic geographical location, modern digital infrastructure, young human resources and open policies; aiming to become a high-tech center, especially in the fields of AI and semiconductors.

To realize this goal, Mr. Vu Anh Tu, CTO of FPT Corporation, said that Da Nang needs to focus on attracting large technology companies to invest in super data centers and research and development centers. Mr. Tu pointed out that there are still gaps in laws and policies that make it difficult to attract. If a sufficiently attractive policy is developed, Da Nang can completely attract billions of dollars in investment. In addition, the locality needs to build autonomous capacity in AI by attracting and developing high-quality human resources.

Drawing on Singapore’s experience, AI expert Albert Antoine said that Da Nang should develop a clear, flexible AI strategy that is aligned with the goals of economic development and improving the quality of life of its people. The city needs to create a mechanism to attract technology investment and promote links between the government, businesses, and institutes and schools. The most important thing is to ensure effective implementation, turning vision into concrete and measurable actions.
Data Binding
Many experts believe that data is the key factor for sustainable AI development, along with infrastructure, human resources and policies. Dr. Nguyen Van Minh, Head of Huawei's Intelligent Computing and Communications Research Group, affirmed that among the three core factors for AI development (including data, government and infrastructure), data is the 'lifeblood' of AI. Infrastructure investment is possible only with finance, but data needs to be planned, built and shared strategically.
Sharing the same view, according to Associate Professor Dr. Chu Cam Tho, Viet Digital Investment Joint Stock Company, data is the foundation for building an AI-adaptive learning ecosystem. Typically, it is possible to analyze student capacity based on past data, thereby building an improved program that is closer to reality. Measuring capacity based on data is not only applied in education but also in human resource management, contributing to building an effective digital government.

Meanwhile, Dr. Quach Huu Trung, Director of Hospital 199, believes that AI integration starts from practical needs and internal data. The hospital applies more than 30 software operating through the ITITIAN platform, helping to centrally manage and ensure information security. The important principle in data management (even though data is collected in many different departments and fields) is that management must be carried out centrally to ensure consistency and effective exploitation. For AI to play its proper role, there needs to be a clear data strategy, suitable for each specific industry and field, instead of applying it in a scattered manner.
