In Duy Xuyen commune, Da Nang city, Tra Ly lotus pond is in full bloom, attracting many locals and tourists to visit.
With an area of nearly 35 hectares, the lotus pond has become a highlight in the development of agricultural economy associated with local community tourism.
Tra Ly lotus usually starts blooming from May to August every year, with peak blooming in June and July.
The ideal time to visit is early in the morning, when the sunlight is gentle and the dew is still on the leaves.
Previously, this area mainly cultivated rice but the economic efficiency was not high. For more than a decade, the model of switching to lotus cultivation has brought a stable source of income for the people, while contributing to protecting the landscape and environment.
Lotus products in Tra Ly are currently processed in a variety of ways, from dried lotus seeds, lotus tea to handmade products, contributing to increasing the value of regional agricultural products.
Not only is the lotus a valuable economic crop, it is also a symbol of pure beauty, closely associated with the spiritual life of the people here.
With the advantage of natural landscape and friendliness of local residents, Tra Ly lotus pond is expected to become an attractive destination in the journey to explore the new land of Da Nang, while contributing to promoting the development of agriculture combined with tourism in a sustainable direction.
From the center of Da Nang city, it takes about an hour for visitors to travel to Tra Ly lotus area, to feel the peaceful countryside space and experience the cultural and ecological values typical of the Central region (Vietnam).
