Da Nang encourages Gurye district (Korea) to expand cooperation to promote labor connection

DNO - On the afternoon of August 2, chairing the reception for Mr. Kim Soonho - District Chief of Gurye District (Korea) who visited and worked in Da Nang city on the occasion of the Vietnam - Korea Festival 2025, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan emphasized that Da Nang encourages Gurye District to expand cooperation to many new wards and communes of Da Nang to promote labor connections and improve people's lives.

At the reception, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan expressed his pleasure in welcoming Mr. Kim Soonho and the Gurye District delegation, and thanked the delegation for their presence during the important festival, contributing to strengthening the friendly relations and cultural exchanges between the two localities and between Vietnam and Korea.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee informed the delegation about the recent merger of Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, taking the name Da Nang City. The new city has a natural area of ​​about 11,867km², a population of more than 3 million people, including 94 commune-level administrative units, opening up wider development opportunities, along with many special mechanisms from the Central Government, creating favorable conditions for Da Nang to promote international cooperation, attract investment, develop tourism, science and technology and innovation.

Da Nang currently has friendly cooperative relations with 8 Korean localities such as: Changwon, Daegu, Jeju, Hwaseong, Pyeongtaek, Osan, Yongin and Gwangyang. Cooperation programs have been effectively implemented in many fields such as tourism , training, cultural exchange and staff exchange.

In the field of labor, some localities of Da Nang and Quang Nam such as Hoa Vang, Nam Tra My, Hiep Duc have sent seasonal workers to districts in Korea, including Gurye. Notably, Gurye district has signed a cooperation agreement on seasonal labor with Hoa Vang district since January 2025 and established friendly relations with Son Tra district since January 2024. This is an important foundation for the two sides to continue sharing and cooperating in the coming time.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan affirmed that Da Nang will inherit and develop the existing relationships with Gurye, and will assign appropriate administrative units to continue implementing activities such as placing cooperation logos, youth exchanges, etc. The city encourages expanding cooperation to many new wards and communes of Da Nang to promote labor connections and improve people's lives.

Mr. Kim Soonho expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome from the leaders of Da Nang city. He shared his pride in bringing traditional Gurye music to perform in Da Nang twice and feeling the warm cheers from the local people.

District Governor Gurye believes that the merged city of Da Nang will develop strongly and be an important partner in the district's international cooperation strategy.

Mr. Kim Soonho pledged to continue promoting practical exchange and cooperation programs between Gurye and Da Nang units, contributing to the good relationship between the two localities.
